The hotel itself was at the entrance to the Strathclyde country park with easy access from the M74 and lovely lakes and walks all around.
We knew of Toby Carverys but did not know that some of them provided accommodation. We were pleasantly surprised by what we found. The location was very central being just off the motorway. We were attending an event at Summerlee museum and it was only 10 minutes away. The hotel was in the Strathclyde country park. We enjoyed the walk around the loch which is just under 4 miles. The room was spacious and well equipped. The staff were very helpful. We enjoyed the food in the Toby restaurant. The parking was free.
I stay here often because the rooms are clean and comfortable and the Toby Carvery on site is very useful. Also the location right next to Strathclyde Country Park is lovely. Staff are great as always!
We had 4 rooms booked at the hotel for a charity walk in Strathclyde Country Park . My colleagues and I were working over the weekend. Check-in was great. We had a very helpful and friendly receptionist. Our rooms were clean with lots of space. Good wifi reception, too. We ate in the restaurant. The food was lovely. The crumble was an absolute treat! Excellent breakfast, and for those of us who to leave before the 7.30 start, we were offered a packed lunch to go. Luckily for us, the cold buffet and hot breakfast were ready for us to have 7am.
It met our budget and location requirements for a rowing event in Strathclyde Country Park (and family of 5 travelling). Able to self cater. Able be dry in dreadful weather. Shower was good. Bedding and towels were clean and good quality.
Connected to the Toby Carvery, on the edge of Strathclyde Country Park and M74 motorway, this is the perfect location for a relaxing meal, a few beers and to retire to an above-standard room. I live a mere ten miles from this hotel and use it as an escape from the city. Excellent all-round value.
We were pleasantly surprised by the size of the room and particularly the little sofa. As we had two dogs, it was good to be able to get outside very easily. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom very nice. Breakfast was good and very easy to assemble. Even the coffee machine was user friendly. Very convenient for great dog walking in the Strathclyde Country Park. We had come for a funeral at the Daldowie crematorium and even at 9am, we were there in 10 minutes.
We wanted to be close to Strathclyde Country Park and the hotel was perfect. The place is very nicely decorated and the staff are friendly and helpful. The room we ended up with was and the bed was very comfortable.
