Everything went well. The friendliness of the staff. Never had a pre-booked breakfast before however, it worked for us great service when we came down. What topped it for us was it was not a large hotel but a bespoke.
The Park Hotel is in a quiet area, in the centre of this historic seaside town, 800 metres from Montrose Rail Station and the golf course. It has free parking, en suite rooms and a bar and restaurant....

Although the House was closed we could enjoy the gardens and grounds, and got helpful tips from a guide who was there to paint the railings by the entrance. A walk through the woods and in the glen is well worth it.

The house of Dun that this property is part of is a magnificent georgian house and you have access to the gardens at night after the house is closed (its national trust), so its a lovely place for a walk around and the gardens are wonderful. The proprty seems relatively recently built in the old stable block so everything is quite new feeling
Sparkling clean, nicely decorated, welcoming apartment. Comfortable beds.
There is plenty of outdoor space to stroll around, walk your dog. The free entry of a guided tour in House of Dun is a nice plus.
The staff was very nice and helpful. There is a café a other side of the building.
The George is a small friendly hotel which is really convenient for the centre of Montrose and as a base for the surrounding area and attractions, including Montrose Basin Wildlife Centre and House of Dun. Also ideal to stay for when visiting cities of Aberdeen and Dundee as Montrose is about halfway between the two. Lovely staff and comfortable, warm, clean room. Good breakfast available to set you up for a day of exploring! Also great value for money.
Location was beautiful. House of Dun was lovely. The views were amazing and the walks great. Montrose Aviation museum is a must see. Lovely coastal harbours to visit.
The accommodation was immaculate and an excellent location to explore the surrounding area. The staff at the house of Dun were amazing and a great help with any questions we had.
Hotel in a good location for exploring this part of Scotland. We did trips to St Andrews, also across to the Speyside distilleries via Ballater and Royal Deeside. Lots of localish fishing villages and the National Trust for Scotland property at House of Dun. Plenty to fill a week.
Hotel breakfast had a good choice.
