It’s very well kept and has all the facilities you’d need. A lot of hostels have terrible spacing in the rooms and that’s bad for airflow but I’ve never encountered this while here.

Initially we booked a room with twin beds, but upon arrival were checked-in into a room with a double bed, which was bot acceptable for us. Happily the owner arranged a second room as this booking mismatch was their mistake.

Prestonfield House is a stunning hotel placed in a beautiful garden. The main structure presents the traditional baronial architecture and the rooms inside are just faboluous. The kindeness of the staff at the reception was exceptional, and so was our room, with a view on the gardens. Unfortunately we spent there only one night, but we already plan to be back and stay longer.
