The food just keeps getting better. I thought the pork belly bites and pancake roll would be the dish of the night but the liver and bacon was absolutely delicious!

The room was lovely, big and airy with an outside seating area which was a lovely surprise. The bathroom was huge and provided some really nice toiletries. The pub had a great atmosphere and we enjoyed our evening.

I can’t give enough praise to the staff - they were so friendly and couldn’t do enough for you - even down to remembering tea orders for breakfast. The food was fantastic and the rooms were lovely too.

Very comfortable and luring as we have stayed here many times before to visit the Colchester zoo it’s just so ideal location
The rooms are lovely and comfortable and the breakfast is lovely
The bar in the evening and the food is really nice and relaxing
Just a nice vibe all round
Incredibly clean cottage in a nice setting.
Cottage decorated in a modern way.
Beautiful grounds to explore on the estate.
Great location for Colchester Zoo.
Use of outdoor swimming pool added something special to our stay.
The room was very comfortable and very clean. Plenty to visit nearby - Colchester Zoo, and Harwich Fort. The staff were lovely, leisure facilities great. Cannot wait to go once the refurbishment is finished as it will be even better.
Host fantastic! Left sweet little touches such as kitchen essentials (tea, coffee, washing up liquid and dishwasher tabs, etc), hand wash and fully stocked toilet paper. The house itself was spotless and in a great location (we went to Colchester Zoo, 10 minutes away). Could not fault it! It was also a bonus not to have been rushed out of house at 10 instead check out time 11 on departure day.
Excellent location, Tesco express just over the road and takeaways close. Great base for our planned trips to Colchester Zoo, Colchester Castle park and Clacton.
Lovely clean, modern, spacious property.
