No staff to speak to, just bar man when I checked in.
He was very pleasant, but had gone before I could complain
Great location, Near the center of the village. Supermarket and restaurants just a short walk away. Good starting point for Balmoral castle and several hikings. Parking in front of the cottage. Well equipped kitchen.
We provided our own meals here. The cottage was lovely, clean and had everything we needed. It was close to the town centre, and to Balmoral Castle and lots of walks. We used it as a base to travel around the whole peninsular.
It had an outdoor space with chairs. A nice dinning table and reasonable kitchen equipment. It was close to ballater where there were restaurants and shops. It was close to Balmoral castle.
Ballater is a little luxury village right next to Balmoral Castle. Lovely downtown with beautiful houses, great shops and restaurants. St. Andrews house is itself a small castle. The owners live downstairs and upstairs there’s some rooms plus and apartment rented out for guests. We spent 2 nights in the apartment, it was very nice and specious, clean and had everything we needed. Easy parking in front of the building. Natalie and Tony was very welcoming and made us breakfast freshly every morning. We felt like royals.
The location was excellent not far from Ballatar and Balmoral Castle. Room was very comfortable and nice modern bathroom considering the age of the property. The breakfast was excellent, lovely homecooked meal. The proprietors were friendly and very welcoming.
The location was beautiful, we had a great view from our window, of the mountains. The evening menu looked amazing and had we checked into our rooms instead of going strait to Balmoral Castle we would have chosen to eat at the hotel, but it was getting late in the day and we wanted to visit the grounds before they closed. We did have a nice drink by the fire however, and a chat with the staff in the early evening.
- The bed (!!)
- The breakfast
- The room and location of the property
Last but definitely not least:
- The owners; knowledgeable, kind and fun to talk to
Lovely guest house/ B&B right in the middle of beautiful Ballater. Walking distance from restaurants, pubs, the nice river walk etc. Only a short drive from the Cairngorms, Balmoral castle and Aberdeen. Will definitely come back when we're in the area
The bed and pillows were super comfortable!!! The entrance etc, was really lovely decorated. Our dinner was lovely. Would recommend having a meal in the hotel. Ballater is a lovely little town/village with some lovely shops. Great location to stay in if you are going to Balmoral Castle.
