Excellent location as we were attending a wedding at Askham Hall. Staff were helpful and friendly and the accommodation was comfortable and spotless. We had a first class breakfast.
It’s a lovely old building at the end of the village closest to the church and directly opposite the entrance to Askham Hall. Perfect if you need an overflow hotel for people attending a wedding at the hall. The food and the beer are excellent and the staff are really lovely and cannot do enough for you. Yes the building creaks and groans but that’s all part of its charm. It’s a local, it has genuine regulars, people who live and work in the village, I don’t think I’ve ever felt more welcome in a hotel before.
Beautiful room with Georgian windows looking over trees and the beginnings of the Askham Hall estate.
A range of good quality food offered for breakfast.
Evening meal served in front of a crackling fire.
The owners were so welcoming! We was at a wedding at Askham Hall and this was perfect for the walk over there. We stayed in the caravan area which they have behind the pub, which was great! Would happily stay here again! Thank you!
