El Sardinero Beach
If you’re after sun, surf and seaside dining, the immaculate beach of El Sardinero is the perfect playa for you. The summer months will see the shores full of bronzing bathers, lounge chairs and parasols. Surfers should head here between November and March for the most extreme waves. The promenade makes for a nice evening stroll with green spaces and cafes aplenty.

Travelling with our dog we always stay here a day or two before the ferry. Very comfortable - good restaurant and breakfast cafe next door. On busy street leading to El Sardinero beach - double glazed windows - however street goes very quiet overnight. Easy to walk to other beaches and to Las Llamss park - as seen on Monty Don’s Gardens of Spain.

Incredible stay at the Gran Hotel Victoria and Santander. Well kept hotel, very clean and tidy, large balcony/terrace and views were brilliant. Large and clean room. The bed was comfortable, the shower had great water pressure. The breakfast selection is a continental style buffet with a good selection of bread, meats, fruit, yoghurt, juices, cakes etc. The lounge area with a free coffee machine was a really nice touch! Easy parking nearby on the street for free. Good location, 5 minutes walk to the Segunda Playa del Sardinero beach. Easy access to the old town and city center by buses no. 1, 2, 3, 6, 21 (the bus stop is located at 3 min walk).
The hotel has a great location by El Sardinero beach, good access, easy parking, good rooms with great sea views, an excellent restaurant and provides a generous breakfast buffet.
