Lovely style and feeling to the place. Good tasty food. Plenty of breakfast. Pool great in the heat. Great free boat service to the other bank. Trips easily organised through reception. Transfer to airport, balloon rides, taxi round the sights. All great. Great advice from Dr Marina the resident owner.

It was a great experience all around. The hotel was excellent, with a view overlooking the Nile. The food options were great. We tried both the Thai and Italian restaurant and both were excellent. The coffee was the best we had in Egypt, which is very important!
Also, and most importantly, if you are going to Egypt, you must do Luxor. In my opinion, it has more to offer than Giza.
This air-conditioned hotel is in the Theban Necropolis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

I recently stayed at the New Memnon Hotel, and I have to say it was an exceptional experience! The owner is incredibly kind and caring, making sure every guest feels welcome and comfortable. The food they prepare is absolutely delicious, with a variety of flavorful dishes that really stood out. Additionally, the location is perfect for those planning hot air balloon rides, as it's conveniently close to the launch sites. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a warm and pleasant stay!

Be aware of the entry fees.
Be aware of the entry fees. Set I alone was an extra 1800LE - nearly £28 per person - the cost per person for all the tombs, including Tutankhamun was £46 each!! Set I was very good, Tut's tomb just had his remains in it. The rest is in the Egyptian Museum.

A ticket only gets you into a few tombs and which ones are open rotates. King Tut is a separate ticket. Not the most exciting tomb (since he died young there wasn't much time to make a big tomb), but his mummy is there.

The Valley of the Re is an amazing place that requires at least 3-4 hours to fully enjoy and appreciate. It's highly recommended to get a guide. The entrance fee is 600 Egyptian pounds and 300 for students, but you need to have a valid student card. While some tombs are included in the tickets, you can only choose 3 tombs to enter. Three tombs require an extra fee: Seti I, Tutankhamun, and Ramses Vand VI. We visited all three and really liked them. The Tomb of Tutankhamun is the smallest with an entrance fee of 500 Egyptian pounds for adults and 250 for students. The Tomb of Seti I is the most expensive, costing 1800 Egyptian pounds with no student discount, but it's considered great and worth the money. The entrance fee for Ramses V and VI is 180 for adults and 90 for students. There is a small train connecting the ticket office and the entrance, costing 20 Egyptian pounds, but the distance is walkable, and one can opt to walk to the entrance. Many local workers inside the tombs offer to take pictures in exchange for a tip. The toilets are not free, and they are dirty; you need to pay 10 Egyptian pounds without a receipt and 15 if you request one.

Plan before hand which tombs to see.
Plan before hand which tombs to see. Worth buying tickets for the individually priced tombs - these are much less crowded. The valley is scorchingly hot, take water, wear a hat and visit early in the morning. Take time to visit Valley of the Queens especially the tomb of Nefertari withs its wonderful decoration.

Paying the extra money to see Seti's tomb in the Valley of the Kings is definately worth it. The steps inside can appear a bit daunting, but it is not as steep as some tombs and the Tomb itself has to be seen to be believed. Make sure to look up ... the paintings on the roof are beyond spectacular.

Too many people all entering tombs all at once.
Too many people all entering tombs all at once. Chaotic, crowded, very sad as these sites are not being cared for, they are just taking the money. Advise to get there when they open. We went alone at 6.00am but after we visited with a tour, I counted 40 buses as we arrived with a line waiting to go in. Thousands of people . I think they should ban photos as the selfie people are extremely annoying. History is being abused not preserved or respected here.

Locations was handy to the Valley of the Kings and felt safe, the pool was great for when it was too hot to go exploring and the apartments were big and spacious.
We had a 2 room apartment with en-suite in each room and balcony overlooking lovely garden. Nicely furnished, very clean with comfortable beds and air conditioner worked well. Shared roof terrace great for sunsets and star gazing. Location a street from Nile and Water taxis from West Bank to East Bank. Short taxi ride to Valley of the Kings/Queens and many other temples, monuments, workers and nobles village sites.
This is the only place to stay in Luxor - forget the tired old Winter Palace. This hotel is right on the Nile in an area well back from the streets, with security entrances to the long driveway. The pool area is the perfect way to relax after a long hot day in the Valley of the Kings.
The view from my room was magnificent. I liked it. The hotel room was great. It was comfortable to stay for 2 nights. The staff was very kind and hospitable as well. I really liked the hot air balloon and the valley of the kings tours provided by the Nasco Tours within the hotel. A big kudos to our tour guide Rami! I learned a great deal about the Egyptian history. Last but not least, the boat ride led by Arafat in the afternoon was amazing. We really enjoyed it.
A big thanks to Mohammed and his team. They are all amazing and work hard to satisfy their guests throughout the day. Mohammed is the man for everything and together with Ahmed they organise and handle it all. The 2 day tour tyey organized included air balloon ride, Karnak and Luxor temple, Valley of the kings, Hatshepsut temple and the boat ride for sunset. The hotel is very nice, like a riad, including a pool and a rooftop terrace. Perfect 2 days in Luxor. Thank you very much.
Sunny Luxor was in a quiet section of Luxor, it had an excellent view of the Nile for sunset, and a wonderful view of the balloons at sunrise on the other side. Sunny organised a balloon tour and a driver for the Valley of the Kings tour *his name was Mohammed - he was excellent!!!* The balloons are always a risk with weather cancellations but we were lucky and they weren't cancelled. The apartment was huge and comfortable.
We absolutely loved staying at this accommodation. The apartment was spacious, clean, with a huge balcony and the views are spectacular! The host was very polite and willing to go an extra step to make our stay more comfortable. This accommodation will make your travels around Luxor much more enjoyable, the location of it is also very convenient, close to the Valley of the Kings and other sights. 5/5!!
The hotel is close to The Valley of the Kings but a little too hidden from the CBD. The room facilities were modern and well equipped, and extra toileries were provided in the bathrooms. We had the room with an extra large bathtub, which was amazing.
The host is very welcoming and accommodating.
He allowed us to wait in the hotel for our airport transfer for a few hours.
This place is located in the heart of The Land of The Pharaos. It's like going back in time. And you have the whole place to yourself. Cozy, easy and a few minutes away and you are right on the Nile and the temples are nearby. We went sightseeing in the mountains, sailed on the Nile, horse riding.. visited the temples, the valley of the kings.. and the bazaars? ?? Unbelievable...it's magical. And when you can have your own apartment instead of an expensive hotel?? Yes, this is the reality..

There were very few foreign tourists (Feb 2015) as numbers have not yet recovered since the revolution and we didn't have to queue even in the Valley of the Kings and had many sights to ourselves so I recommend you go soon.
