Following an earlier stay at the Regent, we decided to return when we came back to Beijing as we had thoroughly enjoyed our first stay there. This was repeated in our second stay, where we enjoyed the same high quality room and service. Additionally, the location close to the Forbidden City also allows an easy access to the Metro and most major attractions. We can definitely recommend a stay here!

Security blocks off whole area starting across wide street, sidewalk across road blocked too.
Without access ticket one can't get close enough to see anything. Long queues--didn't see any special access for old, handicapped etc--there must be some somewhere but I saw none. Glad I had been there years before cuz it's not worth the effort now (May 2023).

I didn't know much about the history before going, so honestly it wasn't the most interesting place we went and it was very busy.

Great hotel located right next to the metro that leads to the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square. The staff was very helpful and assisted us with our trip to the Great Wall of China. Rooms are spacious and have great air conditioning.
Excellent accommodation near Tiananmen Square, close to both the metro station and South Railway Station. Delicious, hearty breakfast and a wide selection of buffet lunch/dinner options at the hotel restaurant.
I heard that Tiananmen Square in Beijing, China is very spectacular, and there are many interesting places in Nanluoguxiang. My friends have been there. My family and I also want to go, so I booked this hotel. The staff received us warmly and helped us a lot.
The hotel is located within walking distance of Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City and for those who wish to combine a visit to these places then the location is excellent. The rooms are huge and shiny and have everything. The reception staff are very nice and make a great effort to help with any request.
Great location, most attractive attractions within walking distance (Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square are about 10-15 minutes from the Happy Dragon Hostel). As bonus, free coffee from the coffee machine (invigorates you so you can’t fall asleep all night) and power banks on the way out. I really liked the staff, always ready to help! I recommend this hostel especially for solo travel!

Great location! It’s at the centre of Beijing. On top of the most iconic shopping street of China. One stop subway to Tiananmen Square! Subway can take you to almost all of the tourist attractions except the Great Wall. Room is clean and very high tech. Staff are friendly.
The location was great, right in the centre of the old part of Beijing. Walkable distance from Tiananmen Square. The room was basic but spacious and we had all the amenities we needed for our stay. The room was tidied every day of our stay as well. Non-smoking hotel which was also nice.
Fantastic location in the heart of Beijing. 5 minutes walking distance to TianAnMen square. Lovely small street restaurants next to it and also QianMen Avenue with lots of super interesting shops. The hotel is located in a classical Beijing Hutong neighborhood. Very beautiful surrounding. Friendly staff which tries to communicate even though language barrier. You can keep your luggage with them after check out.
