This stunningly beautiful old hotel has a modern annex, which is where our room was. Generally we prefer rooms in older part but the modern annex blew us away. The room was outstanding, possibly the best of our three week trip. It was perfectly laid out with the large closet, bathroom, bar area closest to the door and spacious bed/seating area towards the balcony, which meant room was exceptionally quiet. Very well appointed and immaculate with a very comfortable bed and seating area as well as balcony with a lovely view of the lake. We enjoyed spa, which is large with sauna, steam room, cold plunge and indoor/outdoor pool and quite busy. Breakfast was the best breakfast of our trip -- the best coffee, croissants, fruit selection, eggs, and faultless service overlooking garden. We were only here one night on our way from central Switzerland to Geneva for a flight and wish our stay had been longer.

The staff was unbelievably helpful and very gracious. Special mention for Ms. Kamal at the reception who handled our requests with utmost patience and was very knowledgeable about museums and bus routes.
The room though small was very comfortable, had an air conditioner which we needed for a few hours and was very clean.
The location was amazing with a great view of Lake Geneva from our 6th floor window. Lots of nice cafes and stores near the hotel. We walked to the lake several times.
The hotel is away from the crowds and only a 10 minute bus ride(No. 1) from the train station. They even give a city travel pass.
Highly recommended.

Starling Hotel was a wonderful experience and I will certainly come back when in Lausanne. The staff was amazing and friendly. I really loved my room and I can say it’s a super comfortable and well appointed hotel, which even gives you choices for the kind of pillow you want! Overall, if you are headed to EPFL Science Park, Starling Hotel is your only and best choice! On a sunny day, the view of Lake Geneva is simply amazing.
Just next to the bus stop - direct connection to EPFL campus. Well equipped, with a proper coffee machine, fridge etc. Nicely designed, bright and spacious. Maybe a perfect place also for longer stays, since this is a complete (although small) appartment. Access is by a code, so one does not rely on a reception etc.
Great location, close to EPFL and CECAM headquarters. Around the corner is a good Italian restaurant, and it is within walking distance from the lake. The tram stops in front of the hotel. Good sized room with excellent shower. Breakfast is good, with good coffee. Nice employees.
This was my second time at this hotel. The staff was again very kind, the room was clean, and the location is excellent if you have business at EPFL or UNIL.
I would recommend this hotel if you are planning a trip to EPFL or UNIL - convenient location, right at the EPFL metro station. There are some food stores and a few restaurants around. I had a basic, but clean and spacious room.
I liked the freshness of this hotel, modern look of the hotel and calm hood with a good access to Lausanne.

The room had immediate access to an inner lovely court with easy access to the EPFL, restaurant, exhibition centers and supermarkets. The metro station is a few steps away from the hotel entrance. I mean, literally. Upon arrival, we were given free transportation tickets for the duration of our stay, which is a real gift when you know the price of a single bus/metro ticket in Switzerland.
