We chose to stay here on our hike through the Via Alpina, and would definitely recommend it.
It is a working farm, so it's a rare opportunity to experience staying on a farm. If this is an issue for you, then this is not the place for you, however for those who love Nature, fresh yoghurt from the farm for breakfast, and want to spend a night or a few nights on a farm, this is perfect!
We were surprised by the size of the room - it is very big with a big bathroom as well! Everything was clean and we had everything we needed for our stay.
The hostess is sooooo lovely and we enjoyed our chats with her in our broken French mixed with English.
The farm is located very close to the main village, and you can easily walk to shops and restaurants. If you plan to walk at night bring a headlamp or torch, as the road is not well lit up.
For breakfast we got to try some local specialties such as the milk and yoghurt from their farm, some cheese from the region (later we went to visit the cheese cellars of the L'etivaz cheese which I highly recommend to anyone hiking the Via Alpina, as the hike from L'etivaz to Rossiniere is short enough, so that you can plan in a cheese tour at Maison L'etivaz, before. Maison L'etivaz is on the trail, so you can start your hike right after the tour and cheese tasting)

Meera was amazing as a host, who is very easy to talk with and answered all emails promptly. The view was stunning from all angles and the apartments is gorgeous. All open space and very bright and homely. The area is beautiful and there are plenty of walks etc to do locally. Perfectly located for the balloon festival in chateau d-oex. I booked this for my partners 40th and he was over the moon with it.

Everything was great ! Staff goes above and beyond to make you feel comfortable. My compliments to the two reception ladies, being friendly and accommodating at my requests. The hotel is cosy, clean and welcoming. We had a room with the balcony and amazing view, there is also a Nespresso coffee machine in the room and tea bags.
Spa is lovely , everything is new and clean. It’s not big but it’s cosy.
We enjoyed our food in the lounge bar and breakfast has very nice choice of options too.
Overall, one of the best 4 stars hotels I’ve stayed, and very close to Gstaad, under 10 minutes by train.
I will def come back another time! Everything was great and staff really made the difference !

A picture postcard rural setting, this stunning location is ideal if you seek peace and tranquillity. Sadly there was no snow during our late December visit however this did not detract from the spectacular vista over the mountains. A car is essential to navigate the dark and isolated roads, especially at night. As we selected self catering accommodation, we ate in mostly apart from a dinner with friends in central Gstaad, about 20 minutes drive away. Grocery shops were a similar distance from our chalet.

It's a lovely real village adjoining the greater Gstaad area. Great skiing especially in the region from Zweisimmen to Schönried but also in Gstaad itself and much nearer, from the Videmanette in Rougemont. Fantastic value for money

We visited to track down my late mother in law's childhood...
We visited to track down my late mother in law's childhood home so it was a very personal trip. We visited in September.
The village is lovely with friendly people and a great selection of amenities including a hospital. The train running right through is both convenient and typical of the region - as a train lover, it was a nice bonus.
The views are spectacular, the air beyond fresh. It felt like stepping into a chocolate box picture or a living postcard. We loved it and will go again as soon as we are able.

Loved this place, we haven’t been for a few years but it still has lots of character and places to eat and drink and a well stocked supermarket.
Just a pitty the ski slopes/lifts are currently closed as this was a nice small ski area. Short walk to train station to get to other ski areas, so chateaux doex is a nice base.
There is a great place that does the most amazing pizzas,

There is not a lot of hotels in the village like there was...
There is not a lot of hotels in the village like there was years ago, some have been converted into apartments. There is a good choice of places to get something to eat or drink.
There is a handy Co-Op supermarket near the Railway Station.

It’s a cool little town, especially during the hot air...
It’s a cool little town, especially during the hot air balloon festival. Too bad the La Braye cablecar has been closed down, however there’s plenty of good skiing in the area. Good train and postbus connections to all surrounding ski villages.
Amazing location within 15-60 min driving distance to lots of attractions. Homely accommodation with all appliances you could ask for (WiFi and efficiency of some could be better). Incredibly hot water on demand with great size shower and a second bathroom. Host was really helpful and flexible.
Would come back again! (if can afford expenses in Switzerland! haha)
Old style cosy hotel with a hotel/museum vibe, very nice if you like the style (I do). The owner was extremely kind and helpful. Location very central in Chateau D'Oex. Breakfast quite good.
