The entrance was very fancy. I could see it as a wedding facility. Our room was clean.

Close to everything in downtown, harbour front and also walking distance to a lot of things, right next to the sea planes too. Wonderful stay, throughout the stay hotel workers kept in contact with me through messaging and was able to schedule house keeping hours through text, really convenient and easy to access too. Once I left they also called to tell me that I left something that I didn’t need anymore, they really go above and beyond. Aryan and Aden were really helpful.

I like that it is quaint and right off the main highway so it is fairly easy to navigate to and from. ( Have stayed here twice due to the price ) I do like the concept of the place. The bathrooms seem to be done better than the rest of the room. Not a terrible place for a solo traveler or biker but wouldn't suggest it for the family due to location.
Nanaimo is a great city. Has incredible views of the bay and mountain range. Very friendly people. I happened upon a lovely kitchen store, Maison Cookware & Bakeware, that has an incredible selection of quality kitchenware. I spent some time talking to the owner, Julia House. She was a wealth of information on everything in her store. She said they will soon be opening a tableware store in the same complex. Definitely a stop for every cook!

Nanaimo was a little city that is spread far apart, but everything you need is 10mins away
The homelessness issue rears its head all around Nanaimo but not as aparant as Vancouver!
A lot of OLD buildings with a lot of CLOSED but there is a bunch of construction, so I am wondering if the city will soon rebuild?

Nanaimo is a cool little city. Depending on the goal of your trip renting a vehicle is recommended, since the city is spread out. As well there is much to see in surrounding areas. With the ocean, mountains and forest this community is surrounded by nature and beauty!

We had a great dinner at Firehouse Grill and fantastic coffee at Regards Coffee and the walk along the waterfront was nice but nothing super special, in all honesty it's kind of a dreary, quiet place that isn't very pretty. Maybe it has way more to offer than what meets the eye but I truly wouldn't care to stay there for more than a night passing through.

There was a couple of RATS outside by the pool but they stayed away from people. The hot tub wasn’t working either. But the pool was GLORIOUS and the room was clean to perfection. It was a nice place to sleep in!

I didn't see much of Nanaimo, just Petraglyph Park, before heading to Victoria. This side of Nanaimo was quiet, and I left very early. One great thing about South Nanaimo is its proximity to the Duke Point Ferry - a short drive. Also, the lack of nightlife meant my visit was quiet.
I would recommend visiting Petraglyph Park. It's not easy to find it, you have to be driving on the northbound side, but it's beautiful. I've enjoyed other aspects of Nanaimo in the past, especially the Woodgrove area, and I've found people there very friendly.
My partner and I had a really nice stay at the Buccaneer. We had come to Nanaimo for a boat survey at the nearby marina and it was within walking distance, as well as within walking distance to a few restaurants and pubs. The staff was exceptional. They went out of their way to help me with a few things and were also able to upgrade our room. The room was exceptionally clean and kept in very good order, much more so than other lower priced hotels I have visited. Solid A++ and I would 110% stay there again.
Have stayed here for 3+ day stretches twice now. The lake access is amazing, the rooms are large, comfortable and well stocked. The breakfast was even better (more options) than last year (still covid breakfast). Pet friendly, BBQs if you feel like grilling and located within easy access of the freeway if you are heading north or south. The mall nearby (walking distance) has a grocery store. All sorts of lake fun rentals and reasonable laundry facility prices.
This is a classic style motel. Its beauty is it’s a short walk to the Nanaimo ferry to Vancouver and it’s clean. I found the bed very comfortable, as good as more expensive hotels. Staff is excellent, very friendly. I parked my Motorcycle out front of my room and it was safe all night. Just like the picture shows.
- Friendly receptionnist who welcomed me better than I could ever expected
- The size of the room was perfect along with equipment and the quality of the beds
- Hotel located 15 minutes walking from downtown and waterfront
- Some nice restaurants around the Motel (not talking about Mc Donalds :) )
Reasonably close in to central Nanaimo. Decent amount of free parking. Large room that had a balcony, which was an unexpected bonus. Comfortable beds. The property honored our request for a room on the quieter side of the hotel (away from the main arterial), which we appreciated.
The breakfast was the best I had in my 6 weeks travelling in Canada. The room is very quiet to the back garden with chicken. Anthea is a very friendly host, who tried to help me with everything. The rooms are very nicely decorated. Nanaimo is in a short walking distance.
Easy access to the waterfront and 2 on site restaurants. Helpful staff. Hotel is undergoing aome renovations, so, some interruptions accepted. I arrived early and they gladly kept my luggage until I could check in. Good coffee in room with single cup coffee machine.
The house was new with a huge terrace and an amazing ocean view. The hosts Shawn and Lili tried their best to make us feel welcomed and Indeed we felt like home.Thank you Shawn and Lili.If anytime soon in Nanaimo you are the first choice.
One of the best apartments we ever stayed at. Large, nice furnishings, all you need is there. It's very close to the waterfront, perfect for disabled people, there is an elevator opening straight into the living room.
I enjoyed the water views and being able to step out onto the balcony, as well as the chaise lounge from which I could put my legs up and look out onto the water. Also, a very green (eco) hotel!
Quaint little hotel nestled downtown waterfront. Had a beautifully unique design. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Staff were so cheerful and friendly. We will definitely stay again.
Best value in Nanaimo. Clean, spacious and well laid out room. Lots of plugs for charging devices. Great budget room within walking distance of downtown.
