Sydney Ferry Tour over the Harbour

Where better to see the Sydney sights than from the water? Hop onto a harbour ferry to get a whole new angle on the city’s iconic shoreline. The 20-minute trip from Circular Quay to Darling Harbour is a shortcut to close-up views of the Harbour Bridge and Opera House, while the historic Manly Ferry cruises out to the stylish northern suburbs.

Beautiful - Try late night cruise on an ordinary and cheap public ferry. It will take you around the harbour multiple stops and return you back to your starting point. Great sight-seeing at a fraction of the cost of touristic setups. And if any place takes your fancy jump off and rejoin the ferry later.

MY tip is: GO to Sydney Harbour!

MY tip is: GO to Sydney Harbour! It is beautiful and friendly and all the ferries coming and going are so delightful to watch and ride! We have been to Sydney 3 times (from USA) and we always have a great time! If you can, climb to top of bridge - and it was a climb for me (55years old) with my 21 year old and we both loved it! (one more step and I wouldn't have made it but there was not one more step!!)

Definitely take a tour of the harbour and then walk around, it’s busy, it’s funky and it’s full of history. Markets at the weekend at a quirky touch. It’s wonderful on the harbour and if not much time take a ferry ride.

Brilliant I wish I had bought property 40+ years ago, nevertheless it’s always there beautiful and exciting as ever to see, knowing what I know now, I would have explored further suburbs afield that had the Harbour lapping at its shores. Visits to the annual Vivid displays is a must, either by foot, ferry or view from the popular Harbour restaurants.

If you have the time, do a lunch cruise and this can help to see the major harbour attractions without having to spend additional money to see the same things. Additionally, as you are seeing the majority of attractions on the cruise (suggest at least a three hour lunch cruise), you can save precious time to sightsee other areas.

The bedrooms were downstairs, which meant we could all have space for some individual quiet time alone, with everyone at the apartment. It was nice an cool in the bedrooms, which made it easy to get a good night’s sleep. I loved that we were within walking distance of the Opera House, the Rocks and the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Everything was within a 20 minute walking distance.

Private rooms and the small dormitories with friends are more like a hotel than a hostel. Fabulous location. Rooftop terrace overlooking Sydney Harbour is wonderful. Also loved that the building is in the middle of an archeological dig. Appreciated the information boards, photos and prints of our colonial past. I had heard excellent reports of this place, and it definitely did not disappoint. Fantastic value for money. Easily the best hostel stay I’ve ever had.
