An excellent depiction of the Gold Rush history.
An excellent depiction of the Gold Rush history. I highly recommend the AURA sound and light show at night. Dress warmly to really enjoy this 3 part show that entertains and educates in equal measure.

Spent the day here. Enjoyed the people in 1850's garb.
Spent the day here. Enjoyed the people in 1850's garb. Watched Blacksmith fashion articles, Enjoyed the schoolhouse where the children actually go to school in clothes from 1850's and are taught with period materials. Toured the Mine show and learned of the disaster where 27 miners died. Enjoyed the actual Bowling Alley from then with the balls that were used so much they aren't round anymore!!!

Sovereign Hill is a Great Place to explore the Australian...
Sovereign Hill is a Great Place to explore the Australian Gold exploration in the 1800s Go there early as you will need at least 4 hours. You can bring your own food if you prefer and lots of experiences including going underground.

Loved this trip.
Loved this trip. Only had limited time here and really needed more time. Make sure you have the whole day to explore, book ahead and plan out the activities to make the most. Great for kids to visit (and adults alike)

Loved this place.
Loved this place. Only place you get to see a piece of the gold mining history. You can pan for gold. You get to see what buildings and businesses use to look like and what the tents the settlers use to be like. Awesome history. You do need at least half a day to visit here

Cosy room, was immaculately clean. had a great heater and electric blanket, because you need it for Ballarat!
Separate bathroom. Water pressure was great.
Microwave, kettle and toaster and a fridge. Plenty of room to hang your clothes and store your suitcases.
Location was great you could pretty much just walk to the supermarket or a chemist and a five six minute drive to Sovereign Hill
Handy to highway, without being noisy. Location worked well for us. 5 minutes from Kryal Castle, where we attended an event. 10 minutes to centre of Ballarat, or Sovereign Hill.
Provodore restaurant on site was very handy for dining on one night. Good food, reasonable price.
We had a two-bedroom apartment, which had two bathrooms (very handy for our group)
Plenty of room, lovely and clean, plenty of parking. We went to sovereign hill which was a few minutes away from the apartment. I would definitely stay here again.
Look, the Sovereign views isn't exactly the Hilton, but it's reasonably modern, it was comfortable, warm (freezing outside) and a great location especially for Sovereign Hill (5min walk). We had a group of 15 family members staying in 2 apartments and they were big and roomy. We were quite happy overall with this property.
The hotel is in an excellent location and offers very good value for money. The room was well-appointed and stylish (as was of course the entire hotel). The room was nice and quiet. Not only is the location good for reaching everything in the city, but even Sovereign Hill was only a 30min walk.
The room was of the standard one would expect of a typical Australian motor inn. The linen was fresh and the beds were neatly made. In terms of location, Victoriana Motor Inn is very well situated. It is about a 5 min drive to Sovereign Hill, on the right side of Ballarat for easy access to Kryal Castle, and there is a supermarket and very nice wood-fired takeaway pizzeria about 4-5 mins walk away.
The hotel is located next to Sovereign Hill park. It has a separate entrance and provides separate entry cards for all its visitors. The hotel complements the park. So, all the buildings are made in the same style as colonial Australia. The hotel is located near the bus stop. Therefore travellers without a car can easily get to it from the station to the hotel and from the hotel to the city.
