Sadly we were disappointed.
Sadly we were disappointed. It is really someone’s folly, not a real botanic garden. Perhaps winter wasn’t the best time to visit to appreciate the planting, but apart from the season it is overpriced, especially when the fabulous Mary Cairncross centre nearby is free and much nicer.
The bird aviary may appeal to some visitors but if it’s a botanic garden you are after then I can only recommend it for the views.

Fabulous, so good to do the Aviary tour, beautiful Australian birds, it was a wonderful experience. The Botanic gardens are magnificent & very large. Lunch was simple but very tasty.

Fantastic views, man made waterfalls, ponds with waterlillies & irises. A vast variety of roses, camelias, some magnolias, Guinea fowl, native birds, an opportunity to get photos with bird and a nice canteen/ cafe.
