Situated in Stock, 9.2 km from Hylands Park, The Harvard Inn features accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a restaurant and a bar. The location was so pretty, easy to find. We arrived later than planned & Mark on reception was wonderful in getting us sorted. Spotless comfy bedroom & fab en-suite. Great breakfast.

The best inn I have ever stayed inn! It's a 1500s building and it is gorgeous and fascinating inside. So much to look at, lovingly and tastefully restored and preserved. See pics. Fantastic staff. I didn't use the pub / restaurant but it looked superb. I did have breakfast which was 10 out of 10, see pic. The location is in the heart of the historic old town, all the streets are narrow and quaint, I managed to find parking up the street, but the whole area wasn't designed for motor cars. Be aware that the many steep stairs are not suitable if you have mobility issues or heavy suitcases, so if that's you call them to discuss your options. See the pic of the paper they gave me to help me navigate the labyrinth! Overall the best historic property I have ever stayed in, and I have travelled a lot. Don't miss staying here!

In the small village of Sheering, this family run Public House offers 12 en-suite bedrooms. The Cock Inn is a family run free house that has been run by the Bedford family for over 20 years. Amazing place, great people and hospitality, lovely breakfast. The personnel was very helpful, if you need to book a taxi and flexible so to stay in your room a little bit longer. We loved the vibe of this hotel. Overall, very clean and in the room you can fin everything you need, the hairdryer, iron even holy bible.

We always stay at the George mainly based on its location and staff Joey on reception was extremely helpful in many ways during our stay and is a credit to the organisation

In picturesque Thaxted, Swan Hotel is just 8 miles from London Stansted Airport. The historic coaching inn features a charming restaurant, real ale bar and elegant rooms with free Wi-Fi. The staff were really friendly and helpful, it was a short drive to Stanstead airport, the room and the pub itself were really nice. We actually wished we’d got there earlier in the day to explore the town as it looked really nice

The Fox Inn has a garden, terrace, a restaurant and bar in Matching. Located around 26 km from Chelmsford Train Station, the inn with free WiFi is also 30 km away from Hylands Park. Excellent staff / great rooms and service - lovely outdoor area and full of character inside the pub

Boasting a terrace, restaurant, bar and free WiFi, Kings Arms Hotel is set in Stansted Mountfitchet, 200 metres from Stansted Mountfitchet Station and 14 km from Audley End House. Everything, although as we were on the top floor, it did get quite warm overnight and the fan provided didn’t quite cool the room down. Nevertheless, this summer (Autumn, as it’s now mid Sep) has been an Indian one at that with days exceeding 30+ deg.

The Bell Inn is located in Thorpe le Soken. The Inn has a terrace and garden views, free WiFi, and guests can enjoy a meal at the restaurant or a drink at the bar (Please check our website for opening... The stay was beyond expecations: nice people, nice food....it all very nice!
