Gasthaus Alpina

Tschappina

The simply furnished rooms of the Alpina guest house share bathrooms on the same floor. Towels and linen are provided.

A breakfast including local products is served every morning and for dinner you can enjoy typical Swiss food. Sandra is an amazing host - going that extra mile to make your stay pleasant. We loved the place - it is furnished and decorated with love and such attention to detail. You do feel welcomed and taken care of. I wasn’t aware that there was additional charge for sauna - my bad, I probably missed it in the description. We loved the food - the portions were fair and with three course dinners we were hardly managing to eat if all. Sandra kindly offered a full story behind each dish (whether it was traditional Swiss, which region, if locally grown, home made)! Sandra also mentioned the Tchapinna ski area which I recommend if you need to take it easy or have any beginners in your group (CHF36 ski pass which is great for Switzerland. Only ski lifts which is tiring after a while. Still a great day skiing just 10 min from Gasthause Alpina). 40km of piste but not as diverse and large as Flims Laax Falera where we preferred to spend most of our days (CHF90 per day). A fantastic stay!

Hotel Drei Berge 3 stars

Mürren

On a cliffside at 1650 meters height in the Bernese Oberland Alps, Mürren is a secret that has been coveted for decades by adventurers from all around the world.

The Drei Berge Hotel is facing the three highest peaks in Switzerland and is named after them (The Three Mountains). The Jungfrau peak is protected by UNESCO and gives its name to the restaurant where you can drink water of the valley, the purest in the world. It was quaint but tastefully furnished, and very clean. The bathroom was clean and spacious - not something we’ve experienced in Switzerland generally (bathrooms tend to be on the small side). My sister was very pleased with the bathroom and said she didn’t feel like she had no space to turn for once! The room was really wonderful. And even the communal bathroom on the first floor was spotless, nice-smelling (rose petal scent) and such a pleasure to use. The property seems to be family-run and we were welcomed very warmly. The lady at the front desk (Ruth?) made us feel particularly at home. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay - I will most certainly stay here again if I visit Murren again, and will also recommend it to my friends and family!
