Cactus lodge Zanzibar, inn in Nungwi

    The owners were incredibly helpful. The ATM did not work with my Chase debit card so they provided me with TZ shillings to do the boat tours and a little shopping. Such a BIG help! The location was great away from the big resorts and close to the beach. My room was cleaned and tidied every day and very comfortable. Breakfast is included and quite good. I also had dinner there and it was delicious.

    Everything was great, BUT, I ended up not staying at Nungwi beach. When I arrived they didn't allow the taxi to get in saying Nungwi inn was closed for renovations and would only open in a few months. This was April, I booked in January and haven't received any information about this changed. I called the number showing at booking.com and after some back and forth I was finally given a room at its sister hotel Sanders, which was great!!

    Great location with ocean view, ocean-side restaurant, and direct ocean access. I loved the staff at both the hotel and restaurant! Good restaurant for lunch and dinner, and free breakfast buffet.

    - Breakfast was ok - there is a set menu for everyday of the week which was a cool idea. - The pool is nice for tanning or standing in it, but not really made for swimming. - The staff were so nice and helpful. - We ordered dinner/room service on one of the nights and it was really good. - Good value for money if you don't want something expensive.

    The guest house it's literally 3 minutes walking from Nungwi Beach and close to all bars and shops. The environment is very friendly and it's really like being at home. Food is very good both for breakfast and dinner. Staff is nice and they supported us to book excursions and to rent the motorbike (including obtaining the permit). You can wash clothes and enjoy the company of two dogs and one cat. The place is safe, with security guard all nights at the entrance.
