Excellent downtown location within walking distance to the castle and shopping. There is a bus stop a few hundred feet away and the bank next door has an IC card charging station. There is a Daily Yamazaki combini adjacent to the hotel as well. The room safe is big enough for my laptop and other valuables. The breakfast at this location is better than other Toyoko Inns.

Absolutely beautiful hotel. The design is very traditional Japanese. The service was amazing. I truly felt so comfortable and clean in this hotel. It was also close to tram and walking distance to ginza area(main shopping and dinning district)

Really great value for money. Breakfast and dinner were delicious. Room was spacious and comfortable. Drinks with dinner were reasonably priced. Entry provided to next door spa which was super nice and they even posted some stuff we had left in the room after. 10/10

Warm and friendly towards every guests. Unlike other hostels, as long as you take the initiative, you get to know more about the locals staying in Kumamoto here through their frequent gatherings over the dinner time and they always welcome you. They even organised a takoyaki party for me and taught me how to cook it. Also inviting to join the bamboo shoot harvest! What a real experience that I appreciate so much! Highly recommended! Thanks!

The atmosphere is really nice! It is full of charming details all over the place, it looks like the tavern of Ali baba! The staff is very helpful and joyful.

The location was perfect. The staff made a very nice design map with restaurants for dinner and another one for breakfast places. Resters had a parking spot. It was a beautiful designed guesthouse.

Convenient location, quick check-in, comfortable beds, and a convenient breakfast. The accommodation is close to a convenience store, just a short drive away. We arrived after dinner, and the front desk staff efficiently assisted us with check-in and provided relevant information. The beds were of medium firmness, and the water pressure in the shower was relaxing. The breakfast the next day included a typical Japanese-style and simple Western-style breakfast with straightforward utensils, and the meals were delightful.

Okus Hotel was located in a leafy part of the inner city, within walking distance of the castle. Additionally, shopping and restaurants were plentiful and easily found nearby. The hotel staff, conveniently for us, spoke excellent English and provided helpful and willing assistance. Our room was spacious, although not contemporary.
