The New Inn Halse, hotel in Washford

The New Inn Halse has a garden, terrace, a restaurant and bar in Taunton. The inn also offers free WiFi and free private parking. All guest rooms in the inn are equipped with a flat-screen TV.

Very comfortable room, which was also spotlessly clean. It is a very friendly hotel, which is community owned and community focussed. It's lovely to see how busy the bar and restaurant are in the evenings, being the main place where people living in the village congregate. It was a pleasure to see this, and experience the positive "vibe" that this gives. Great staff, who communicated promptly ahead of our visit, and who welcomed us very warmly. The restaurant menu offered great choice, including vegan dishes.

The Rest and Be Thankful Inn, hotel in Washford

Set in Minehead and with Dunster Castle reachable within 11 km, The Rest and Be Thankful Inn offers a bar, non-smoking rooms, free WiFi and water sports facilities.

The Chicken, Ham and leek pie was delicious, very evidently home made. The mash and veg with it were also excellent, I like my veg and it's a rarity to get them cooked so perfectly. The Banoffee pie was definitely not necessary but equally delicious. My newly decorated room was spotless and the brand new bed vey comfortable. What can I say; I think they should get awards for their food. I was still full the following morning but I had an early start and would be out in the wilds all day, so had to refill, the Breakfast was just too good !!! Obviously locally sourced and all excellent.

Lovely little inn in a village not far from Minehead, very good value room for an overnight stop. Nice location right opposite the stream. Food looked good, but breakfast was served a little too late for me to try it😪

Liked staying in an old inn with history and a local neighborhood bar. The food was excellent (try the beer stew). I fell ill and the staff was very sympathetic even bringing a meal up to my room Really sweet.

The lads running this place are Bril and working hard to turn this old Inn into a thriving local and place to stay overnight. The inn is quite old and has a lot of original features which add to the charm. The breakfast was basic but tasty. The lack of facilities and choice was made up by the charm of the lads running it.

Rustic and out of the way, great staff, good food, particularly the big brekkie - although this was on top of the accomodation charge £12 each) which is why I have rated this hotel a 4 (value for money was ok but a bit more than other places we researched). In saying that, we would stay again. A comfy inn and clearly popular with the locals.
