This is an excellent hotel exceeding its rating. A fine example of the best of English hospitality, it sets a high benchmark which other inns and hotels should be aiming at and which in many cases do not. Breakfast was very nice. Evening meal menu not to our liking. Fortunately it was a Friday and the lunch menu was also their takeaway menu so that was okay as there was nowhere else locally to dine. The bedroom was nice

It's a lovely old fashioned country pub with a real log fire in the main bar which we appreciated. We had dinner which was delicious and a nice breakfast the next morning. Parking was easy too. The rooms were nicely decorated. The lady who served us breakfast was very friendly and interested in our plans for the day.
