The Old Coach House at the Golden Lion is a small unpretentious country inn, with accommodation, situated in St John's Chapel in Weardale. Bar meals were served in the evening, breakfast was available by arrangement. My room was clean, tidy and comfortable.

High Force was ideally located to explore the area and beyond (we ventured up into Scotland as well as The Northumbrian Coast). The property was beautifully clean and well presented. The beds comfortable and good off road car parking. It was very quiet whilst we were there, with only one other apartment occupied during our stay. Really friendly locals, especially at the Blue Bell Inn.
