The Wheatsheaf Inn, hotel in Reeth

The Wheatsheaf Hotel is set in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales National Park. The restaurant serves dishes made using local recipes and produce, and the bar serves real ales.

This is our 12th(!) stay at the Wheatsheaf - we absolutely love it. A great location in a beautiful little village, and a good base for exploring further afield - plus lots of scenic walks. The rooms at the Inn are clean and very comfortable, the breakfasts are excellent and will set you up for the day, and I would recommend trying the meals as they are just so tasty! The steak pie is a favourite, and the fish and chips are just delicious - but do book as it can get very busy. We've stayed at many hotels and Inns in the UK - some hugely expensive ones too, but for us, the Wheatsheaf is up there among the very best, which is why we keep returning!

The Foresters Arms, hotel in Reeth

Situated within the picturesque Yorkshire Dales National Park, The Foresters Arms is a Grade II listed property nestled under the peaks of Roova Crags and Penhill.

Proper country pub in a great location (very picturesque and peaceful) with comfortable rooms - not TOO posh but with everything necessary for a short stay, excellent food and a brilliant hostess, host and staff. Apparently it's a community-owned pub and that shines through. Locals obviously love the place and the people who run it. Very friendly place.

This ancient inn has a good selection of Real Ales, very good food and a great ambiance. Situated directly on the Coast to Coast Walk, this is clearly a perfect venue for people walking in the area. The hearty breakfast (included in the price) sets one up for the day. All in all, great value for money and left me wanting to return!

We were upgraded to a bigger room; great position; helpful staff, although had to advise on how to chill wine (you need iced water, not just ice). Dinner was quite good; breakfast was very good.

It’s strategic location in the village and, being an Inn, the different ambience from hour to hour, day to day, depending on whether the bar was open, the weather and the day of the week.
