The accommodation was on a room only basis, but we were still supplied with cereals, yoghurts, tea and coffee which was really good of them, and they supplied the soya milk as requested.

Lovely multi generational family hosts
Perfect for rustic breaks in the countryside, an Inn is a small property with basic hotel services and typically traditional decor. Inns are fully licensed and have a bar providing food and drinks in the evening, which distinguishes them from country or guest houses.
As a dog friendly stay, this was our first booking at a dog friendly property. From our first contact to booking out, The Red Lion Inn could not have be any more accommodating. Such friendly owners and locals, we felt very welcomed during our stay.
Our breakfast was exceptional. The evening meals was good traditional food, I certainly would recommend the Cumberland Sausage. We would be more than happy to stay at The Red Lion again when visiting the South Lakes.
Nice and snug it is fit for purpose as we spend the day away , came back to cook our dinner with friends and to sleep. It was clean and the owner responds fast. I cannot fault it really

Stayed here overnight on the way to Scotland, excellent hosts, the most comfortable bed I've slept in, all very clean. Small place but perfect for what we wanted. The dinner and breakfast were perfect.
Traditional village inn. Very welcoming owners and nice ambience in the bar. Comfy room with modern bathroom and good shower. Tasty food at dinner and breakfast. Lovely quiet village location in the middle of the countryside but not far from the main road. The churchyard has benches with wonderful views over the fells. A relief after the crowds!
