Chef Stuart made us a breakfast of which legends are born of, exceptional doesn't cover it. Phil the barman helped us with numbers for local take aways that delivered, the locals in the bar were full of chat and very friendly, making us feel right at home. The room was warm and very comfortable, and quiet, giving us a restful night. If I was in the area I would stay again.

The Dolphin Inn features a garden, terrace, a restaurant and bar in Thorpeness. With free WiFi, this 4-star inn offers room service. The property is non-smoking and is located 1.8 km from Aldeburgh Beach.

The location is excellent, right in the middle of the holiday village of Thorpeness which is quaint, busy in the day and quiet at night. The restaurant is busy , though and worth booking. The rooms are lovely, very individual, well thought out and exceptionally clean, warm and welcoming. Tea and coffee facilities were good quality. The staff are truly lovely, friendly but not over friendly and the food was excellent. Their breakfast choices are wonderfully eclectic and locally sourced. We love this place and return regularly.

Brilliant place! Manager in there, from Yorkshire, was a top bloke and asset to Adnams, did absolutely everything he could to give us a top 2 nights even though I arrived in middle of a hugely busy Friday night

I loved all the little thoughtful touches like the tea and coffee supplies etc. I loved the wood burner and wood had been left. It was warm, spotless, comfortable, and inviting. A great location for the beach and the shops! We went to a couple of the local pubs and everyone was so friendly. We had a great Indian takeaway...food was stupendous! We met the lady next door and she was so lovely and friendly and helped us with information. This place was a total winner for us!!!!

Absolutely lovely home from home. 8 The Haven is amazingly well stocked, with everything you need to enjoy a happy and relaxed stay. Beautifully and sympathetically renovated in keeping with the original nostalgia of the Ogilvie built Suffolk holiday village. Fantastic location in Thorpeness, facing the Meare and five minutes walk to the Country Club, Tennis Courts, Emporium, Dolphin Inn, Golf Club and beach.

We loved the breakfast. The people renting out the room are lovely. We liked sitting in the comfy chairs with the windows looking out to the garden after a day of visiting places. We had dinner at a nice pub within walking distance.

We had a lovely stay at The Garden Room. Being in a separate building to the house meant we could come and go without feeling we might be disturbing the hosts, and as result, the room itself was very quiet. Nice view out over the garden and fantastic breakfast each morning - we didn't need lunch! We will return if visiting the area again! Its a10-15 minute walk to good local pub for dinner and well located for visits to the surrounding towns and tourist spots. Parking on their driveway also included.
