not a lot to be fair. Noisy from the bar below. an 18th birthday , so we had to suffer noise until we went down for a drink at 8:15 to order a meal, told that they finish food at 8, but they would do a meal for us as their cook was still there, the meal was ok. we were not told at check in that food was only until 8PM. Barmaid was nice and funny.. Room had nice thick loo roll,

Three Horseshoes Leamside, hotel in Lanchester

Boasting a garden, restaurant, bar and free WiFi, Three Horseshoes Leamside is set in Houghton le Spring, 14 km from Beamish Museum and 18 km from Stadium of Light.

The Three Horseshoes is well situated and perfect for our visits to Durham and Beamish. There is a large car park and on entering, we were struck how well decorated and welcoming the place was, with a lovely stylish dining area. The bedroom was very nicely decorated and furnished and also very clean. The bed was exceedingly comfortable including the pillows. We had dinner and breakfast in the hotel and both were excellent. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, particularly the lady who served us at breakfast.

Second time I’ve stayed here, and if I’m in the area again I would! Comfy spacious room, delicious breakfast, and good chat with other guests. Went to the Italian in the village for dinner and would recommend.

We stayed here for three nights, the room was warm and spacious and the bed extremely comfortable. We also had dinner in the pub every night and loved the home cooking, with plenty of choice on the menu as well as daily specials. Also, if you enjoy a good full English, you won't be disappointed!

Keith, the owner, went out of his way to help us. We had been delayed in traffic and had missed our dinner booking at the local Italian restaurant. Keith called the restaurant and asked them to provide us with a takeaway, and then he cleared a space at his kitchen table for us to enjoy our supper. He was absolutely charming and a great host.

Everything! Christine was a charming hostess who did everything possible to make you feel welcome at her home. The individual rooms were charming, comfortable and well equipped. The breakfast was amazing with individual orders wonderfully catered for and additional extras such as bowls of fruit and special jams. There was so much character to the house and a very personal touch to our visit. A reservation for dinner at an Italian restaurant nearby was kindly made by Christine and we enjoyed a very good meal.

Loved the room, bed was great toilet and shower were clean, the food was good and extremely cheap. I bought a New Yorker burger and chips. The staff were friendly and great hosts and the Inn it self is situated about 5 mins from a nature reserve which was an added bonus. Really enjoyed my short stay here.
