Perfect for rustic breaks in the countryside, an Inn is a small property with basic hotel services and typically traditional decor. Inns are fully licensed and have a bar providing food and drinks in the evening, which distinguishes them from country or guest houses.
Great stay for the price and location. We were only there very briefly for an overnight stop and arrived to late for dinner. They graciously allowed us to buy a drink from the bar and use the microwave.
This retreat center is a hidden gem, the name is very appropriate because they offer an alchemy of treatments which nourish one's sense of well being. The interior is exquisite and also peaceful, and the garden is beautiful. I would recommend anyone staying, but stay longer than one night to enjoy the full effect of what they offer which you will not know about until you book the place.
They will cook you dinner if you let them know your food needs in advance.
Peaceful location. Very comfortable bed and excellent shower water pressure.
Our dinner at the restaurant was excellent.
We also enjoyed the full Scottish breakfast included in our room rate.
Enjoyed having no stairs to climb.
Service was exceptional, a mistake regarding our room was made when we arrived; after telling reception, whitin 30 minutes we got a bigger room that solved the problem we initally had.
Dinner was really great and so was breakfest.
The gym was above and beyond.
The grounds were stunning.
The hotel itself is beautiful.
And the shower was also really good.
Big pool table.
Lovely building in good location. Exceptional friendly helpful staff, especially chef. One of my dinner guests was vegan, and the choice was less than I'd been led to believe when booking. However, the chef rustled up a tasty vegan meal. My bedroom was pleasant, but the carpet was very stained and wallpaper peeling above bed. I need to say this would not put me off visiting this attractive hotel again.
Excellent breakfast, had dinner two nights- both excellent. Roomy, spotless ensuite room.
On one evening when the dining room was fully booked, the owner drove me into town and gave recommendations about restaurants. Terrific service. Staff were all friendly and helpful. I hope to use Ardennan House as a base for my regular visits to the area.
