The Pheasant Inn, hotel in Greenhaugh

The award-winning, 4-star Pheasant Inn is nestled in the heart of the Northumberland National Park, 1 mile from Kielder Water.

Beautiful situation and in character with the area. Internally, the bedrooms are modern, nicely decorated, well maintained, clean and tidy. Our room had a generous bathroom with an excellent shower. Our room was also away from the main reception and dining area, which was very useful if you were out late.

This was booked last minute and I have learned to be sceptical about Inns that have pubs. The proprietors are kind and welcoming. The rooms are very clean if basic. The standard, tea, tv and wifi are included. The food both breakfast and dinner were good. And, on a Thursday night, the pub was quiet. I had a great sleep.

Almost everything about our visit was great. We got a lovely welcome and everyone at the Inn was friendly, helpful and efficient. The food was top quality pub grub, accompanied by excellent drinks (local beer, and really nice wine) all at extremely good prices. A great cooked breakfast in the morning too. Our budget room made the best use of its space, with a nice shower, and very clean bedding. . So, absolutely no complaints about the service, location, cleanliness, ambience and food & drink - all were top notch.

Everyone was very friendly, it was my first time travelling alone to Kielder and the staff at the Holly Bush Inn made me feel very welcome and I had everything I needed. Food was great too. Kielder lakeside was a short drive away, and there were some lovely local walks too. Highly recommend
