The whole package of accommodation, food and caring staff was brilliant. the property is antique in looks but fitted out very tastefully with mod cons. Ideally situated for visiting a number of Historic Houses and delightful gardens.
The olive tree bistro has a garden, terrace, a restaurant and bar in Fakenham. Located around 24 km from Blickling Hall, the inn with free WiFi is also 15 km away from Blakeney Point.

The location was ideal for the purpose of our visit to Fakenham. The welcome on arrival was brilliant, considering we had been held up in traffic and were later than expected. Despite the kitchen being about to close, the proprietor made an exception and we had a good basic meal. The accommodation was very adequate and comfortable and clean. The included continental breakfast was perfectly adequate. Check out was quick and easy, so overall a good experience.
Perfect for rustic breaks in the countryside, an Inn is a small property with basic hotel services and typically traditional decor. Inns are fully licensed and have a bar providing food and drinks in the evening, which distinguishes them from country or guest houses.
We loved the gorgeous 12th century inn - it has bags of character. If visitors from abroad are looking for that sense of history, they will love the blue boar inn (tall people, be warned - you will need to duck through doorways!).
Even better than the building was the landlady Laura. She seems like she was born to host, making us feel so welcome, booking taxis, etc. She is a delight!
Lisa was a great host, extremely welcoming and nothing was too much trouble.
The Inn is full of character and had a lovely fire, bar area and dinning area. The bedroom had everything we needed and bed was very comfortable.
Good breakfast and the homemade marmalade was lovely.
Highly recommend and we will definitely return.
Laura the owner was a delight to deal with and so attentive to our needs. The rooms were wonderfully furnished and all comforts given. Breakfast was so delicious and all your needs catered for - shame we didn't have a chance to stay for an evening meal as I am sure that would have been lovely too. If you need to stay in the area, the village and the Blue Boar Inn is a good choice.
Everything was perfect from the location to the beautiful inn.the food was fabulous the breakfast was great very traditional.the room was lovely and the bed very comfortable.the host laura was really nice and friendly.we have booked for next year.
