Wonderful location just outside the village of Great Missenden, a place of peace and wonder I have visited many times.
Traditional pub with excellent breakfast, diners and drink. Staff friendly, especially Helen who is very welcoming and a wonderful conversationalist. Wished I had more time to talk. Lovely rooms up above and atmosphere always lively.
Will definitely be back.
Bel & The Dragon at The Red Lion is a historic grade II-listed coaching inn with stunning features dating back to 1669 and possibly even earlier in origin; much of the original building still stands.

Excellent place, stayed for 2 nights and couldn’t fault it, friendly staff, great food and super comfy beds, love the facilities, great attention to detail, added extras in the room like coffee machine, water and even milk, thank you for a wonderful stay and we will be recommending you to all .
This hotel dates from the Tudor period, but the inside reflects the very best in modern design. It is featured in the film Four Weddings and a Funeral, as well as the TV show Midsomer Murders.

I had stayed here before about 5 years ago and thought it a good stop for our first night after a 24hour flight.
The staff were very helpful

Pleasant room with direct access to a small garden and nice bathroom tiles.
The receptionist was nice.
Perfect for rustic breaks in the countryside, an Inn is a small property with basic hotel services and typically traditional decor. Inns are fully licensed and have a bar providing food and drinks in the evening, which distinguishes them from country or guest houses.
The Inn is a perfect location for exploring the village, such as the Roald Dahl muesum and Missenden Abbey, both not far away at all. The staff are so friendly, the food is excellent and it has a lovely cosy feel. It was very clean and really quaint. It wasn't noisy at all and offered food and drink.
Very warm welcome and happy to help with anything I needed ie decaff coffee pods for my room, changing time for dinner when plans had to change. All the food was delicious, waiting staff smiling, helpful and nothing was to much trouble.
The pub itself was lovely, staff were great and the food was excellent. Both dinner and breakfast were superb. The sheets were crisp and the bed comfortable.
Warm, clean, well-furnished room, very comfortable bed; bar and waiting staff friendly and helpful. Dinner was delicious and attractively presented. Breakfast was excellent.
Character of inn. The eccentric design and the trust the staff placed in the guests. Don’t take room 1 unless you are prepared to duck under the entrance beam. Once you are in its spacious and modern. Room 7 facing countryside and tipi is quiet.
Breakfast fruit option was special. Strawberries, fresh pineapple and water melon. Nice!
Service was very personal.
The room was simple and the bed was good but bit small. The breakfast-buffet was fantastic. Dinner at the restaurant was very good. Very friendly and helpful personnel. A good location for visits and walks in the surrounding area.
This is a really comfortable and friendly place. The staff made us feel so comfortable from the very beginning. The decor was beautiful and we loved the 15th century doorways. Beautiful food too - we had dinner and breakfast here. Good location, with easy access into town.
Very welcoming, lovely 15th century inn, lovely food
