Dating back to 1860, The Dog in Over Peover is in the heart of the quaint village. This typical village inn offers a restaurant and a pub serving real local and national ales.
Perfect for rustic breaks in the countryside, an Inn is a small property with basic hotel services and typically traditional decor. Inns are fully licensed and have a bar providing food and drinks in the evening, which distinguishes them from country or guest houses.
A very rare instance of a completely flawless and truly excellent overnight stay. Lovely dinner and breakfast and a spotless, comfortable and spacious room. However, the main compliment goes to the superb level of customer service from all the staff we met. A word of advice to the owners….Your team are a credit to your business. Try and hold on to them! Absolute given that we’ll stay again. A++++++
Lovely little place situated in a pretty location. Food and drinks were good. Room was clean and I had my little dog with me and he was welcomed and had a bowl in the room for him and a towel which was appreciated. It’s an old inn so noise from the bar was quite loud and I could hear neighbours clearly but nothing that kept me awake. Was a lovely stay. Whilst dogs are not allowed in the restaurant which is fair enough they are welcomed into the bar and you can have food in the bar. The breakfast was excellent.
We loved The size of the room and huge bathroom and air-conditioning. The bed was very comfortable.
Friendly Service… Great weekend full breakfast and it was very convenient to have dinner here - best chips on tour. Ducks in the garden were fun and you could buy a bit of feed for 50p to feed them. The kids loved it.
We liked that it had a fan and hairdryer… And that tea coffee sugar and biscuits were replenished daily.
We've particularly liked the very friendly staff, easy check-in and check-out, nice pub facilities with a good variety of beers and wine. The breakfast was very good as well as lunch and dinner! Overall we had a very good time in the Black Swan.
Dinner was fantastic we both had the tomahawk steak, good to perfection everything was great. Breakfast was again very nice good quality bacon, sausage etc.. Never stayed before but we will be going again. Staff were fab too
Only spent one night and were late at a match in Liverpool so didn't get to experience the place really. The dinner menu looked good, huge restaurant area. Rooms were quite small, but comfortable. Lovely surroundings, wish we could have experienced more of it. It was great for the location we wanted though. All the staff we came across was very friendly.
Just a really great place to stay. The bed was comfortable, nice shower, lots of options to eat (inside the pub, the restaurant or outside). The food was good, dinner was very good. Employee Anna was extremely helpful and went out of her way to make our stay fantastic.
