The breakfast is an experience and unique. The dinner menu’s are a true delight. The kitchen chef is a master. We ate here for two nights because we were exited about the first diner. The Royal Oak is clearly the hub of the village as when we arrived the bar was buzzing with locals- always a good sign! Staff were fabulously helpful and friendly and both dinner and breakfast were absolutely superb. Room was clean and comfortable and had everything you needed.

A special mention to the chef who, in addition to the standard dinner menu, prepared some excellent daily specials. We liked the relaxed, friendly atmosphere at the Royal Oak.

We liked the attention to detail, the generosity and the welcome. We felt that the Royal Oak really wanted to look after us. There was plenty of tea and coffee on the hospitality tray...and biscuits and water. There were toiletries in the bathroom. The shower was powerful and hot. The breakfast was excellent...generous portions and good quality. Dinner was also excellent...plenty of fresh veg served with the meal. The location is gorgeous..we went for an 8 mile circular walk from the village before dinner.
