We used the Moon Inn as a base to visit Chatsworth Christmas Market and we were very pleased with our experience. The room was very comfortable, and we experienced no noise from the outside or bar itself. The rooms are accessed from several outside steps, but these are well lit and there is a handrail where necessary. The staff without exception were really helpful and friendly, in particular the ladies who served us at dinner and breakfast. The meals themselves were freshly cooked and arrived piping hot at the table. The chef is obviously one to keep as we heard no complaints from neighbouring tables about portion size, choice of menu and the actual taste of the meals people had. Breakfast is big, so much so we did not feel the need to eat again until we arrived back home at around six thirty in the evening! My wife and I would not hesitate to return here in the future.

Breakfast was great. It included a lot of choices from toast and cereal to cooked bacon and eggs. The room was clean and well appointed. Larger than others we stayed in. The bath room was very clean and towels were thick and seemed like new. Plenty of bed covers for slightly chilly weather.

Very pleasant stay in this hotel, quiet location location a few miles away from Chatsworth house. Dinner and breakfast both excellent. Only the room was tiny for the price, but lovely and well equipped.
