I loved the atmosphere, the charm of the old building.
The reception is right at the bar. My room was upstairs the pub. Loved the old stairs and floors noises. It has seen some years and everything is oldfashioned. Even the bathroom, but it was clean.
Spent a calm night. Had delicious dinner, a nice breakfast and the staff was very friendly. I felt welcomed.
Its a calm city and you have a nice landscape surrounding.
Beautiful views and convenient location. We didn’t have the best from our room, but from the dinning room/bar area they were exceptional. Staff very helpful and friendly. Hotel rooms really clean. Breakfast excellent in terms of variety and price.
the welcome from Dale the GM and his team throughout my brief stay was exceptional. Dinner and service were excellent and the building, décor, cleanliness, facilities, and comfort in the room was of the highest standard. I will most definitely stay again and use the Malmaison group hotels more in future.
The owners were fantastic. Extremely helpful and obliging. Nothing is too much trouble. Room was great, bed was super comfortable, everything is supplied in both the bathroom and bedroom ( Tea, Coffee etc) The breakfast was outstanding. They helped us with our luggage and parking out front was perfect. It’s a little way to find somewhere for dinner but we actually found a really lovely Pizza place in town. Overall very happy.
Perfect location, old world charme. I loved staying there and had a great view down Nethergate to the city centre. I remember that I’ve walked past it as a student, always thinking that I’d stay there when I get old and can afford it and I visit Dundee again. Many memories came up as we once had a Christmas dinner and Cailidh there when I was a student over 20 years ago.
We have stayed here a few times and when we are back in the area we will most certainly return to the fisherman’s tavern , beautiful area the rooms are so homely and spotlessly clean and great value for money
