The Greyhound Inn, hotel in Clifton Hampden

I have stayed here many times and I love it. Its ideally located for anyone visiting relatives in Richmond Village which is a short walk away. Every room is different and very comfortable. I am usually arriving late and the staff are very helpful in making sure I can get something to eat after the kitchens closed. The food is excellent and I have enjoyed many lovely dinners with my frail mother in law. The staff always make sure we are on an easy to get to table.

The Porterhouse grill & rooms, hotel in Clifton Hampden

The Porterhouse Grill & Rooms is a 2 minute walk from Oxford train station, a 5-minute walk to the Castle Quarter. Oxford city centre is less than a mile from the property.

What's not to like here... Excellent location near the station (hopefully the construction will be done at some point in the future). But the real BANG is Porterhouse itself. Small scale hotel. Comfortable/luxurious rooms in a charming old building. Excellent beds (with duvet!!!!). Super luxy bathroom. Awesome shower. And then there is the restaurant. The breakfast is so good that you don't anything until supper. Go for the Porterhouse Grill. And then supper... Boy. That meat... We first had the sirloin which was super good, but even that paled in comparison with the chateau briand. The staff was friendly, helpful and showed a good sense of humour too! Maxium number of stars. And then some!

Unique old Inn, hosts were welcoming, and the room was comfortable & spacious. Breakfast was cooked fresh & was really nice. Only option for dinner in walking distance is to a pub about 10mins away, but it is on a narrow dark road, that can he quite dangerous, so make sure you have a torch!!

Ancient former inn on a busy road in one of the prettiest villages in Oxfordshire, two mins walk from the Post Office and five from the river. Accommodation in the old stable block, not the most up to date but I like that, clean, everything you needed, full-size bath, yay, w/ shower and great telly. Run by a friendly, helpful family, great breakfast, full English, fresh fruit etc.
