It is nestled in between trees on the farm where waking up to the animals first thing in the morning was beautiful. Off to the bottom of the Crossings Inn where the food is absolutely delicious and close by Carlise about a 30 minute drive.

Very good location, a short distance from the M6. Excellent breakfast on all three mornings. Orders taken rather than choosing from a buffet which we prefer. Had dinner in bar on first night and it was excellent.

Possibly the best hotel bed I have experienced in a hotel or guest house. Really comfy and a good size. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Short walk to the city centre and despite having a room facing the road there was very little noise and got a good nights sleep.

Great location. We stop for a visit to Hadrian’s Wall. It was 25mins drive to Walltown from the Inn. Room was clean and tidy. Breakfast included was great. We had dinner at the pub the night before and it was very tasty.

Location is fantastic for a stop over en route to or from Scotland and just a few minutes from the M6. The setting and gardens are lovely and the dinner and breakfast were fine. The hotel and our room were very clean and the fittings and bedding and towels all of a high quality.

A wonderful rustic inn with staff as warm and friendly and the inn itself. The meal was delicious and the ale cold. If you want somewhere away from the bustle of town, this is the place.

A lovely historic inn in a quiet village. Although the room was on the small side it had a full bathroom which was a treat! The meal was excellent- best fish I’d had in years. Breakfast was plentiful and this even more amazing as the single handed member of staff managed to achieve this in good time and with great cheer! She needs special mention here for her can do attitude and great customer service.
