The Rock Inn, hotel in Bishopsteignton

With a stunning location in Dartmoor National Park, this inn is set in the rural hamlet of Haytor Vale. Dating back to the 18th century, it offers fantastic food and free Wi-Fi throughout.

We were in the area for work and stayed Sunday night. We arrived late for Sunday lunch and the staff were really nice and nothing was a problem. The food was fantastic and good value. We were very impressed with the room on the top floor. Very big, lovely spacious bathroom with bath tub and separate shower. We would have loved to explore the area, but we only had time to have a quick walk…but what a walk! It is right next to some stunning views and rocks and we saw plenty of wild ponies. Just magical. The breakfast was also fabulous and the staff super friendly. Would love to come and stay for a longer break and explore the area. 100% recommend.

This is now a regular haunt of mine when I am on business in the South West. The rooms are beautiful, both breakfast and dinner menus and food quality are exceptional and the Team are the friendliest and most efficient. Nothing is too much trouble.

Lovely decor. Really clean, good sized bedroom with very comfy beds. We were moved to a larger room due to having 2 dogs, without asking which was very considerate. All facilities you would need in the room. In a very good location with plenty of parking. We didn't have dinner during this stay but had a cheesecake topped with Baileys and brownie ice cream, superb. Very tasty breakfast especially the scrambled egg.

Great room which was bigger than we expected, very comfortable super king bed and excellent en-suite. We had a friendly welcome when we arrived and enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere in the bar for a couple of after dinner drinks. Breakfast was, as always, good value. Our third stay whilst visiting elderly relatives and it won’t be our last!
