The Oakhill Inn is a traditional country pub with five elegant rooms based on the outskirts of Bath, just 15 miles from the historical city and Cheddar Gorge and an hour's drive from Stonehenge.

The freshly prepared menus are full of local and seasonal produce and this is reflected in the award-winning breakfast featuring home made jams, old spot sausages and freshly baked pastries.

The Oak Hill Inn is in a great location to explore the area. We stayed there three nights and had meals and drinks there too. We both agree that this was our favorite place on our trip through Somerset. Friendly staff, beautiful decor and surroundings.

Surrounded by views of the scenic Mendip Hills, The Highwayman Inn is situated in picturesque Shepton Mallet. It offers 14 refurbished en suite rooms, and free public on-site parking.

Hearty, traditional food is served in the inn’s restaurant and guests can enjoy a drink in The Highwayman’s acclaimed real ale bar.

Our room was excellent with a view to the hills and although overlooking a main road was very quiet due to the functional double glazing. The hotel is full of character with a comfortable bar area, friendly, efficient staff and a great English breakfast. On the night we were staying there was unfortunately no food available that evening but the landlord kindly suggested that the pub nearby might do food or we could get some delivered in. Large car park. We would definitely stay at the Highwayman again.

This former 15th-century coaching inn offers en-suite accommodation with limited parking for small cars on site. The Crown is situated in the heart of Wells, in Somerset and William Penn once preached there in 1695.

Rooms were nice, location fantastic, breakfasts good. The parking lot is very small, but we always got a space.

Set in a stunning location on Wells Cathedral Green, facing the West Front, The Ancient Gatehouse & Rugantino Restaurant is well positioned for discovering Somerset's historic beauty spots.

Just yards away from the ancient market place, the hotel reflects authentic period charm with its centuries-old spiral stone staircase and quaint little passages.

The staff was amazing and accommodating. I highly recommend dinner on the patio at sunset.

A comfortable roadside inn with ample free parking. The Mendip Inn offers very good value for money, though for travellers who enjoy a hearty breakfast on site this isn't for you. However I found the breakfast bag provided to be perfectly adequate for my needs. The small room was clean and well appointed. I wasn't affected by noise from the nearby main road

Everything was great. After an exhausting work trip I decided to stay overnight locally before my long drive home. I was made to feel very welcome by the friendly staff. Great food and thoughtfully themed room. Extremely clean everywhere. I really could not fault the Mendip Inn and will be booking again for my next trip.

Very comfortable bed - this is a traditional Inn as it were - not fancy, but does its job really well. Room was great, bed great, and bathroom fine - some places the bathroom has been so small you can't swing a cat. Overall quite well thought out. There is a strong food aspect to the place - and the evening food is good - we ate Veggie and it was sound.
