This small family-owned and run country hotel in North Suffolk was once a rural public house; today, it has been sympathetically renovated and still retains its historic charm and character.

Friendly welcoming staff with a lovely quiet room. Breakfast was really good and felt that nothing was to much trouble.
Rich in original character and historic charm, this 500-year-old boutique-style coaching inn offering a cosy pub with real ales, wines and an open log fire is situated on the edge of the Thetford...

The staff were very friendly and the meals were good. However, the supplies for breakfast on the self service, quickly ran out and as there was only one lady working, each day, we had to wait for refills. The young lady was running around taking order, serving, seeing to everyone and felt that this was why somethings got neglected.
We did enjoy 2 breakfasts and 1 dinner at the hotel.

The location was good as far as accessibility to parking and within walking distance to the town centre. The double bed was very comfortable and the cleanliness and decor was good throughout. (Pity about there being no socket to plug in the microwave.)
Perfect for rustic breaks in the countryside, an Inn is a small property with basic hotel services and typically traditional decor. Inns are fully licensed and have a bar providing food and drinks in the evening, which distinguishes them from country or guest houses.
Friendliness of staff. Three different lovely garden areas. We sat outside for tea in the afternoon. Quiet and peaceful location and premises. Excellent dinner and breakfast.
Lovely little place with a great car park, beautiful garden and super friendly staff. Dinner was lovely, and the full English breakfast was superb. We would definately stay again.
Room was a decent size with a comfortable bed and everything in the room you would require. Dinner was very good with a varied menu. Breakfast was excellent, especially if you have a good apetite as portion sizes very generous.
The staff we met, the Thai wife of the son of the owner and the young woman who served us dinner, were very friendly and helpful, as well as efficient. The food was good: quality ingredients, well cooked ( we had breakfast and just one dinner). The inn is very attractive, with historic features, and the surrounding gardens very pretty. We liked the location out in the countryside in the picturesque village of Bardwell.
The staff were very friendly the Inn and the restaurant was clean and comfortable.
The food for breakfast and evening meal was excellent
All in all a lovely stay.
Peaceful location and the inn had friendly efficient staff. Breakfast was of a good standard
