Inns in Trhové Sviny

We absolutely loved this pension! Great location, just down the street from the historic main square. Lovely big room (2) overlooking the courtyard and restaurant below but it was nice and quiet. White, all newly renovated and spotlessly clean. Nice little touches like fresh chilled bottles of water, special coffees, lavender in the wardrobe, a recycling container etc. Although there’s no air-con, there’s a fan for the hotter days. It was easy to arrange everything with our host, Jana, and although we didn’t meet in person, she was very communicative throughout our stay, making sure we were happy. The restaurant and microbrewery downstairs is really great. We ate there twice and thoroughly enjoyed the food and beer. The waiting team are so friendly and helpful. The very kind waiter who showed us to our room also helped us carry our bags up the steep flight of stairs. Krajinská street has everything on it we needed: a small supermarket for breakfast supplies, bars, restaurants, gelaterias. There’s an all-night restaurant across the road in case you get peckish at 2am!

A pretty set of two houses on the outskirts of town. The 20-min walk from the centre is lovely and picturesque, though really only walkable daytime, as there aren't enough street lamps along the way. Our room was a good size for two, neutrally and tastefully furnished, with anti-gnat window nets-:) There is a kettle, and a fridge. The staff offer a pickup from the station for a small fee. The breakfast is good (though a tad monotone if you stay longer). A nearby camping is another plus, as you can rent bikes there, and there is a pub.

Place was somewhat clean. Has cable (only in Czech, so not much use). Location is not bad. Since it was a weekend I parked right outside for free (blue zone, free on weekends). Also, don't get put off by messages like "Warning. people who stay in Ceske Budejovice don't stay here!", or "if you don't arrive on time keep looking for a new pension that's 24 hrs". You'll get it when you meet the landlady.
