I only stayed for one night but It felt like coming home. So much value for money! The owner is incredibly heart warming and welcoming. I was treated with homemade cake (still warm) when i arrived way later than i told her. Breakfast was good and easy. She arranged a taxi for me. Very helpful with everything. Communication was super easy (in Spanish) and very fast to reply. Wonderful stay

    Beautiful setting surrounded by gardens. Dinner at restaurant was delicious and nice not to have to leave the property after a long day. Do hear airport noise but we chose due to its proximity and airplanes were not heard late at night.

    There was only one restaurant nearby. Nobody spoke English and I speak very little Spanish. Alonso took me to the restaurant the first night and helped me select a dinner.

    It’s cheap and you definitely get what you pay. It was close to Walmart but we still took an Uber to the airport since to walk you need to cross a highway or a main road and ofc we didn’t want to do it. The facilities are “cute” in a rustic way.

    My friend and I had a great stay. I especially chose the hotel for the airport shuttle and pool to relax in before flying back home. The first room we got was a bit dirty, but I think we were unlucky and we immediately got another room. The staff is very nice and welcoming, and they recommend a dinner place close to the hotel which was nice. The other night I had dinner at the hotel restaurant which was also tasty like a home cooked Costa Rican dinner. Would definitely stay again!

    The resort overall is excellent - the room was very good and comfortable, the staff was very helpful and professional in any single interaction (from check in throughout to check out, reall well done to them!) - the location is fantastic and the trail around the resort is really fantastic! We had dinner there and the food was good - the staff was always great (both at dinner as well as at breakfast)

    Staff is very pleasant even when stressed during a very busy breakfast. Same for the two women who were managing dinner orders, drinks, the bar and room service!

    It was convenient to have a restaurant in the hotel for dinner. The rooms are small, but well laid out. Staff was friendly and the hotel was clean. Airport shuttle was great, quick and convenient.

    Gorgeous garden and exceptional service. Innkeeper Berni will regale you with Costa Rican tales between the superb breakfast and organising trips for you. If you're only in Costa Rica for a brief visit as I was, it is essential you get some help to arrange things such as tours and drivers due to the laid back way the country operates. Pura Vida Hotel is close to the airport and Berni will help you with all the critical taxi details, including getting you to your flight on time despite San Jose traffic. This is a must stay.
