The Hotel Steinbock is located at the edge of Lauterbrunnen opposite the train and cable car station for Grütschalp, Mürren and the Schilthorn.

The hotel is nicely maintained despite being an old building. Shout out to the staffs especially MARIE who has been very friendly, helpful and always have a smile on her face. Big thank you to MARGARET for being so concerned and caring when she noticed by husband was limping after he injured his ankle. She gave him a walking stick which help him continue with our holiday. It’s a peaceful place to be in. Hosts are really welcoming and if you are a hiker like me, it’s a heaven as “Magic Maggie” can suggest you the best hiking routes in the area. The concept of early-birds and night-owls for the mixed dorm is another great piece of innovation. Looking forward to visit them soon.

Spacious apartment in perfect location. We absolutely loved our stay. The apartment was perfect for our family of 5. The living room and kitchen had great mountain views, and the kitchen was wonderfully appointed with dishes and cookware. We were able to cook all our dinners in the apartment, and the grocery store was just around the corner. There are also nearby restaurants for those not wishing to cook on their vacation. Highly recommend!

The facilities were great, I had a big room with a lovely bathroom, comfy bed and my balcony had a view of the Jungfrau. The hotel was really quiet which is a priority for me in terms of a good night's sleep. Breakfast was great and also had dinner one night in the hotel which was delicious. I'd also recommend the Singaporean restaurant on the main street, eat in or take away. It's run by a lovely couple and the food is always excellent. We always eat here when we're in Murren.
