Some cleanings must be done properly on terrace ( smoking cigarettes rest everywhere on the terrace… was not cleaned at all…) and to scare the guest with flying umbrellas on the thunderstorm. All rest was perfect, specially the hospitality .

She willing to open the restaurant just for us as we can’t go outside because of the weather to cold. It’s was last minute to order food and she really helped us. Perfect for rustic breaks in the countryside, an Inn is a small property with basic hotel services and typically traditional decor. Inns are fully licensed and have a bar providing food and drinks in the evening, which distinguishes them from country or guest houses.
The breakfast was wonderful and the woman who staffed the inn was exceptionally kind and helpful. To be honest, she is the one who made the stay so positive.
I'm a repeat customer because the last time I stayed, it was a nice quiet room at the back. I got upgraded this time and had a similarly delightful, quiet room with a view of the neighboring hills. The room was large, comfortable and had period decor without being stuffy. As with the last stay, the staff were very friendly and cheerful and my breakfasts and dinners were highly enjoyable.
Everything it was an amazing place and we were treated like royalty. The room was beautiful and so comfortable, clean, well appointed and quiet. Breakfast was delicious and cooked to order. Location was perfect. Dinner was delicious. Can’t say enough. We will be back!

The view from our rooms was astounding. The rooms were comfortable with very nice fixtures and furniture. Everything was immaculate. When we arrived after a long, rainy day on the road, we were so pleased to be able to have dinner in the Gastrube instead of driving elsewhere. The food was prepared by a chef that loves to cook. The taste and presentation were both phenomenal! It was such an unexpected treat. We enjoyed interacting with the family of this family run business and found everyone to be gracious and friendly.
This was a classic Swiss hotel with gorgeous architectural details. The cafe food was very good for both breakfast and dinner. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is located in the center of Appenzell town and convenient to all walkable areas.
This hotel exceeded our expectations. We loved it so much! The room and view were amazing, bed comfortable and the staff were so lovely and gave us good tips for what to do! Easy to park, beautiful walks around the hotel and it had such a beautiful outdoor area for breakfast and dinner. We wish we could have stayed longer. 10/10 from us!
Extremely friendly and welcoming. It is a great location in the peaceful countryside but with easy access to Appenzell and all of the nearby lifts. Breakfast is included, and a lovely restaurant offers delicious meals. Corinne was a fantastic host.
