Perfect for rustic breaks in the countryside, an Inn is a small property with basic hotel services and typically traditional decor. Inns are fully licensed and have a bar providing food and drinks in the evening, which distinguishes them from country or guest houses.
Mel and Dave were excellent hosts, and Mel's meals were phenomenal! The inn overlooks the red sandstone cliffs; there are "trails" heading either direction that you can walk and then scramble down onto the rocks by the beach.
We loved this property and the hosts! Mel and Dave cooked us a beautiful dinner and breakfast. There is so much attention to detail. The views were breathtaking and the rooms clean and comfortable. We’ll definitely be revisiting the Johnson Shore Inn!
The setting and views are exceptional. Owners are friendly and welcoming, and all the guests I met were lovely . Good homemade breakfast.
The "inn kitty" is super sweet and doesn't at all live up to his (less than flattering) name.
This is a Hidden Gem! Absolutely stunning setting. The Inn is spotless. It is remote, yet only 15 minutes to restaurants or lovely towns. The hosts are wonderfully kind. They are happy to spend as much or as little time with you as you would like. Truly a special place!
The inn is in an excellent location for sightseeing around the east end of PEI. We easily visited the Greenwich Dunes, Basin Head Provincial Park, and East Point Lighthouse from the Johnson Shore Inn.
The stunning views do set this Inn apart from many on the island. Offering dinner was wonderful considering the distance to restaurants and it was delicious. Wi-Fi was also good for such a remote location.
We deliberately chose the north-east side of Prince Edward Island, far away from the crowds.
Mel & Dave have created a marvelous place with fascinating guests.
Room was a fabulous sea view; clean, comfortable, welcoming. Comfortable bed and two comfy chairs by the windows.
No TV.
We also stayed at the Inn for our meals, which were delicious. Including a bagged lunch with cold beer.
We loved walking above the sea, then finding our way onto the red sandstone rocks below the cliffs.
The Hosts ( Mel and Dave) were excellent, and the food (the included made-to-order breakfast, and optional dinners) was fantastic. The inn was very clean and welcoming.
