Beautiful large rooms (we booked two of the three available), with stunning furnishings and design. The rich circus history is brought to life in quirky design details and the record players in each room (and selection of records) is not something I have ever seen before. The bathrooms were wonderfully designed and spacious. A wonderful stay - I wish it could have been longer! The service was also impeccable and enhanced our stay immensely.

The property is close to the town centre, within easy walking distance to all amenities, but set in a quiet street. There was ample off street parking for our visit, our room was spotlessly clean and comfortable.

The included breakfast was really good, typical hotel breakfast with bacon, eggs, fruit and yogurt, pancakes and juice and coffee. There’s a trail that takes you 5 minutes to walk directly to the beach and the hotel is right on the water. There is also a boat house that you can use with canoes and kayaks! There were seating outside to relax and there was also a fire pit that you could use. The lobby was beautiful with lots of seating and there were cards and board games you could play. There was also beach towels, chairs, and umbrellas that you could use to take to the beach.
Perfect for rustic breaks in the countryside, an Inn is a small property with basic hotel services and typically traditional decor. Inns are fully licensed and have a bar providing food and drinks in the evening, which distinguishes them from country or guest houses.
The Shipwright Inn is a wonderfully kept heritage house within walking distance to the main touristy area, which is dotted with outdoor restaurants and shops.
We stayed on the main floor in the Chart room. My husband and I found the double bed to be quite a tight squeeze. There are other room options with different beds.
The breakfast buffet was plentiful and tasty.
We enjoyed our stay overall!
The "house" was much nicer inside than one would have guessed from the simple exterior. Breakfasts were excellent with fresh fruit bowls offered at the beginning of the meal and fresh omelettes made to order. Filtered water, coffee, and tea were always available.
This inn had so much charm and was the perfect location. The owners/staff were so lovely and helpful, and the place was immaculately clean. We loved the “theme” of the inn and enjoyed looking at all of the historical pieces. The breakfast was also lovely. Will recommend to anyone stopping in Charlottetown!
It was a great experience to sleep at a historical building. Inn was well renovated and had beautiful interior design to give full experience of late 1800s and early 1900s.
Loved this place. Location was perfect, easy to walk around Charlottetown. Great parking.
Staff were lovely, so pleasant to deal with.
We stayed in the Kent room, bed was super comfortable, sofa was comfy too. Good sized bathroom and the whole room was lovely and clean.
Can hear all the plumbing from the other rooms, didn't both us but something to consider as it is a historic inn. We thought it added to the character.
Nice modern rooms in a historic setting!
Best experience ever if you're after an original stay in a historic Inn. Great attention to detail, super helpful team and a fantastic breakfast to set you off for the day.
We received such a nice welcome to the Inn. They upgraded our room, which was most appreciated. Everyone we met there was extremely friendly and most accommodating. It was a lovely historic Inn in the middle of Charlottetown.
The Prince Inn is located within great walking distance to downtown Charlottetown and is close to so many great restaurants, shops and tourist sights. Cindy was so very helpful to my boyfriend and I. She provided great recommendations for places to visit on the island and which restaurants were worth eating at (i.e., Blue Mussel Cafe in North Rustico). She was so accommodating and made us feel very comfortable.
