My family were and remain real estate agents and property developers, so that I was pickled in a brine of learning what people really want, and serving it up. My very first job began in a hotel, and then my career path took me all over the world, staying in every kind and level of hotel, motel and guest house or lodge. People are my interest and business. It is my pleasure to make your visit a very special one." **Michael says: "I was born to host... My parents were extremely sociable and I cannot tell you the number of times they would strike up a conversation with complete strangers - and if those strangers were from out of town and staying at a hotel, my folks would say (especially if they were foreign)... 'Ridiculous! You can't stay in an impersonal hotel you have to experience South African hospitality'... and home they would be brought. They were right, we had such a beautiful big home perched above the ocean that it would be a pity not to share it. The consequence was that we'd always have strangers in the home that very quickly became lifelong friends... as it should be in this human experience."

The jewel of Africa and arguably among the world's most magnificent suburbs in one of the world's greatest cities, Camps Bay is a vibrant and lively neighbourhood (similar to Carmel in California), set in an amphitheater of granite cliffs that soar 1 000m / 3 000 feet above the wild South Atlantic ocean. The views are spectacular and ocean invigorating. The suburb changes its mood with the seasons (remember, seasons in our Southern Hemisphere are opposite to Northern) -- serene and peaceful in autumn, dramatic and magnificent in winter, invigorating in spring, and extremely vibrant in summer.

The beachfront and its dozens of upmarket restaurants (200m away) has a party atmosphere while the suburb itself is a place of families. Your home overlooks the active soccer club, with squash, paddle ball and tennis adjacent. Just 10 min from the city, we're served by an excellent My-Citi bus route, buried in an abundance of Ubers, and a jump-on/off location for red bus peninsula tours. Hike the mountains (behind), stroll the promenade, take a plunge into the tidal pool (500m), surf the fast hollow waves of Glen beach (400m), dip into the South-Atlantic (200m), catch a live theatre show (600m) shop/dine/pick up groceries at the mall (400m). This is ground zero for everything you'll want on vacation.
