Ihlozi Lodge is located within the exclusive Kuleni Nature Conservancy (a Private Game Farm), which is home to Giraffe, Zebra, Wildebeest, Nyala and other small antelope species. The farm is situated on 200Ha of pristine Indigenous bush , offering amazing +- 20Km of marked walking and cycling trails through the reserve and a hide down at the dam for those into their birding. None of the animals have any predators as there are no big 5 in the park. This means that the Giraffe and other animals are very used to human contact. If you are walking on the trails you can get very close to the animals without them becoming alarmed or skittish, which makes for unique encounters and photos.
Welcome to Ihlozi Lodge! My wife Lynette and I took over ownership in May 2024, and a feeling SO blessed to have such a beautiful place to call our own, and yet share with other guests like you. We've already begun upgrades on the pool and its deck area, and will soon have WiFi access also. In addition, we look forward to being able to provide gourmet food options in addition to our self-catering option. The lodge was built in 2008 as a holiday home with nature in mind. During the building process it was a goal to not remove any trees during the construction of the lodge (Which is why some are growing through the deck!) You'll doubtless enjoy the peace and quiet of the bush any time of year, but our favourite season is winter, with its milder temperatures simply begging for a big Braii and beautiful fire. Outdoor baths and showers are delightful also, and our huge, well appointed kitchen is a wonderful spot for you to prepare meals for your group. A separate scullery (including a speedy ice-maker!) and on-site maid service (Thandi is a delight!) make clean-up a breeze... simply collect your dishes after the meal, take them to the scullery, and shut the door!
