If you are looking for country comfort, privacy, tranquility, and beautiful surroundings, this accommodation is for you. The 2-acre property is safe and secure with an electric fence and access to 24-7-armed response, and offers safe, undercover parking. The owners also reside on the property, but the free-standing cottage is tucked away behind lush vegetation and with its own garden to enjoy your privacy. The charming verandah has a magnificent view over the picturesque garden, the perfect spot to relax and observe the scenery, even on rainy days. The cottage is loadshedding friendly with a gas hob, geyser and gas heaters, 12v LED lights, and a backup generator. A weber kettle braai is also available. If you need to work on the go, the dedicated workspace and Wi-Fi are ready for you to use.
Elvandar is owned and managed by Harold and Marita Thornhill. We have been living on the property since 1999. Marita sees to the bookings, the day-to-day running of the property, and is available for general requests and sharing of knowledge about local attractions. She is passionate about gardening and art, and loves meeting new people. We have two small dogs (Mojo and Kirri) on the property, but they are very friendly. They enjoy greeting guests but will not interfere with your stay.
Winterskloof is a quiet neighborhood of Hilton. We are situated in a Conservancy so expect to encounter wildlife and an abundance of birds. Take a stroll through the valley neighborhood to experience the area or head over to the Doreen Clarke Nature Reserve, just 1.7km from the property, and explore the easy circular trail which takes about 30 minutes to an hour to complete. The Hilton Village Centre is a mere 10-minute drive away where you will find numerous coffee shops, yummy pastries, restaurants, pubs, beauty salons, medical services, a historical train station (a favorite for kids) and much more. As Hilton lies on the doorstep of the Midlands Meander, Elvandar makes the perfect base for your local explorations.
