Home to the world’s busiest airport and a vibrant arts scene, Atlanta has an important role in US history. The gateway to the American South, it is the home of the barbecue and hundreds of peach trees that make it a surprisingly green city.
Hartsfield-Jackson Airport is the main arrival point, and Booking.com has an excellent range of Atlanta hotels near the airport. However, the main sights are clustered around Downtown. Near the gold-domed Georgia State Capitol is Underground Atlanta, a shopping centre in the old underground railway.
Just north are a few hotels near Georgia Dome, a huge sports venue, and to its north-east is Centennial Olympic Park, commemorating the 1996 Olympic Games. On one edge of this park are the CNN headquarters which offer behind-the-scenes tours. Opposite is the New World of Coca-Cola where you can sample all their worldwide products. Next door is the massive Georgia Aquarium, the world’s largest indoor aquarium.
In the Auburn district is Martin Luther King’s former home and church, and a museum dedicated to him and the Civil Rights movement. A few blocks south in Grant Park is the city zoo, and the Atlanta Cyclorama and museum, detailing the city’s Civil War battles.
More national history is in the Carter Center, and the former home of Margaret Mitchell, author of ‘Gone with the Wind’.
I was blessed to fine this hotel. I originally had a reservation at Holiday Inn Express and my reservation was canceled which left my daughter and and myself with a hotel. I looked and found Sonesta and booked the hotel. I was placed in a beautiful double bed room and this was after midnight. My daughter and I flew in for her powerlifting competition. The next morning I was happy to meet the Mangement who assured me my daughter and myself was welcome in his hotel and would properly be taking care of. So nests will always be my choice of hotels when I come to Atlanta!

To arrive to the hotel from the airport is a real odisea...no one tells you how to do it. You have to catch a bus that takes you to another buse stop, where you can take the one for your hotel.
It is complicate to undestand, mostly when you do not dominate the language.

I was there for a festival, so I didn't get to go explore the city. But from what I experienced so far I liked it. I thought the people at the stores that I visited and the hotel are very friendly. I would definitely come back again to get the full experience.

Atlanta has such a variety of crowds and entertainment.
Atlanta has such a variety of crowds and entertainment. Just when you think you've found your vieb for the night, something else calls your attention and you have a whole new experience to live. 3 days and 2 nights were not enough, my next trip will be a full week. Oh and the food? Argue with your momma, not me, some of the best food I've had here in America.

A bustling city with tons to offer travelers of all kinds.
A bustling city with tons to offer travelers of all kinds. Food options are endless and a plethora of entertainment options await.
I enjoyed the Peachtree Center for its expansive food court and indoor shopping options. I loved my meals at CUTS Steakhouse and Hard Rock Cafe.
Walking around the city alone at night is not recommended. Next time I will stay closer to where I need to be for work to avoid this issue. Ubers are everywhere so that made getting around easy.
The hotel was close to everything downtown. The staff were kind and friendly. The hotel had a lot of amenities that you could utilize such a valet, pool, bar, cafeteria, rooftop etc. Made a lot new friends and met different people while staying there. This will be my prime spot when I come back to Atlanta for vacation. The whole joke is that was a last minute reservation as the host to the Airbnb I rented cancelled on me the day of, but I’m thankful because my experience at the Sheraton was awesome.
To start off, this hotel is absolutely beautiful. The staff is so sweet and they definitely are keeping everything clean during this pandemic. The parking lot is even exceptional. Most places in Atlanta charge crazy amounts to park, this is just 15 per night. It’s far enough from downtown Atlanta that it’s quiet and relaxing, but close enough that you can go just about anywhere. There are tons of strip malls close by and even one large mall. We couldn’t be more pleased.
The hotel is located in walking distance to the State Farm Arena. The staff was friendly and accommodating. They were able to offer information about the area and Atlanta in general. The room I had was small but it didn’t matter because we were out and about most of the day and night so all we really needed was a clean bed and clean bathroom with hot water to shower, both were delivered. I would definitely stay again.
Nothing. Due to storms I was stuck in Atlanta. I tried to book a hotel among all the other things I was trying to do rebook, eat etc along with a million other people. Somehow I booked the hotel for the next day. I remember putting in the correct date so I don’t know how that happened. No hotel room and out $170 and had to stay in a crappy Hotel and pay again. BS
The hotel was extremely busy being downtown Atlanta. It was a huge hotel with over 30+ floors. Very clean. My room smelt absolutely divine each time I walked in. If they let u pick your floor, ask for the 30th floor so that Ms. Pandora can clean your room. She was SO nice & friendly. She cleaned our rooms each day & made sure we had everything that we needed.
The location is excellent, cheap UBER’s from the Airport and to downtown. walking distance to the Mercedes Benz Stadium. The staff were all very friendly. The air conditioner worked great and we kept the room ice cold (how we like it!)
We didn’t partake, however the continental breakfast looked and smelled amazing.
Excellent location, smack in the middle of downtown.
The Georgia Aquarium and the Coca-Cola Experience are really next door.
The Trolley tour stops in front of the hotel (and it's an absolute MUST to do; preferably as first part of your visit, because you get a lot of valuable tips what to visit in Atlanta).
The Atlanta Marriott Marquis is well located in downtown Atlanta and allows for an easy walking experience of much of the city.
The entrance hall is a must see and riding the elevators is a fantastic experience.
Our room was nice, clean and well kept.
We enjoyed the rather big swimming pool.
The room was comfortable, clean and amazing. The breakfast was plentiful and I was still allowed to get something even after breakfast time was up. Wifi is available throughout the property and strong. Shuttle to and from the airport. Hotel is close the downtown 15-20mins away. Staff was friendly
Room was a perfect size for our stay. The location was absolutely perfect. 10-15 minutes away from downtown Atlanta and Buckhead, also minutes away from various stores and shopping areas. Thers a lot of places to adventure in the area as well. Easy to navigate in surrounding area.
I appreciate it the atmosphere as well as the exceptional service I received throughout my conversations with staff. The entire building and the design of the room was passed my expectations my daughter and I enjoyed our first visit in Atlanta Georgia
We loved the location! We were 10 minutes from downtown Atlanta and Six Flags and next door to Truist Park, so walking distance to an Atlanta Braves game! The hotel itself was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed for our week-long stay.
I love the size of room-it was like a mini apartment. The bed was comfortable. The hotel is close to the airport and around 20 minute drive from downtown Atlanta.
The Hampton Inn is close restaurants and gas stations.
Basic hotel at Down Town Atlanta. I stayed here foe a long transfer and had some hours of perfect sleep. Staff was very lovely and welcoming! Loved the big bed and the room was clean.
Really lovely period property. It was eqipped with everything you could think of & more. Situated in a leafy suburd within easy reach of downtown Atlanta
There Nothing to dislike about this hotel its convenient to Downtown Atlanta and mins away from Atlanta Airport, Its nice quite and has 24 hrs security
