The staff well Management were very rude, lied to us and blamed us for a extra sheet and pillow this issue could've been resolved in a more professional way but, putting individuals with tempers and authority gives a person the power to not be wrong in a situation that was something that was so irrelevant to the situation at hand.

The lobby is open and airy with plenty of room for foot traffic but also lots of seating. To the right it rambles off to a nice, large bar/restaurant (we didn't try it) and the back part overlooks the Riverwalk. To the left is a large breakfast area. The rooms (we had a superior king) are similarly spacious. The hallways are wide and well-lit.
I did not partake of breakfast but am told that there was a good variety and made-to-order omelets.
The location is on a a quieter portion of the Riverwalk, away from the masses, but still convenient to everything.

San Antonio in Texas is home to 2 of the state’s top attractions – The Alamo and the Riverwalk. One of the city’s former Spanish missions, the Alamo was the site of a deadly battle that cost folk hero Davy Crockett his life. The other remaining missions – Concepcion, San Jose, San Juan, and Espada with its aqueduct – are dotted around the city. The attractive Spanish Governor’s Palace also remains.
The San Antonio River runs right through the city, below street level. Known as the Riverwalk, its banks have been cleverly developed to house riverfront restaurants, bars and shops, and are spectacularly lit for Christmas. There are several San Antonio hotels by the Riverwalk which are also close to the Rivercenter Mall, the city’s biggest shopping centre, while La Villita artisan village offers more traditional crafts.
Across the road in Hemisfair is the Tower of the Americas, a tall observation tower with a revolving restaurant overlooking the Alamodome, a huge sports and convention venue, home to the annual Alamo Bowl collegiate football game. Booking.com offers several San Antonio hotels near the Alamodome, and more accommodation near San Antonio Airport.
On the outskirts of the city are Sea World and Six Flags Fiesta Texas. The city also hosts the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo, one of the country’s biggest Western events.
Definitely do the mission walk. Go down the river, on a bike if possible, and hit every mission. They are gorgeous and so is the river.
Riverwalk is okay, but very commercialized. It's not relaxing or enchanting. A little chaotic and corporate.
The art museum is excellent. Botanical garden is good too.
Food is great!
3 days will give you plenty of time to see everything.

We loved the River Walk and went almost everywhere using it.
We loved the River Walk and went almost everywhere using it. The Museum of Art is fantastic-so is the restaurant there- Tre Trattoria. The Pearl is a fun spot especially on the weekends when the outdoor vendors are there. Ladino Restaurant was our favorite meal. The river tour was fun too, and you can also catch a shuttle on the river.
There are lots of breweries. My favorite was Roadmap, and Back Unturned was good too with great pizza.

For this trip to San Antonio (eclipse day pass was booked at the Adega Vinho Winery) I primarily limited my adventures to the Rivewalk area with a haunted pub crawl and a tour of 4 Spanish Missions. The Hotel Contessa was right on the river walk path and within walking distance either down along the river, or at street level. Three nights was about right, although I should have allowed time for a dip in the rooftop heated pool.

Restaurants on RW were just ok..nothing special. Everywhere we went the wait staff was too few. I don't recommend Mia Terra at historic market.
I do recommend Guenter House and pioneer flour mills.

Well to begin with it's my hometown it's where I grew up although it's not the same as when I grew up it's growing too much it doesn't feel the same as it did but I guess progress is good but it still has that comfortable feel for me lots to do lots of good food. good weather
Very beautiful hotel located directly at the riverwalk. It also includes a balcony overlooking the riverwalk directly. A great spot to relax and enjoy the lively evenings at the riverwalk. Also the inner courtyard with the pool is great and relaxing.
From the location you can explore the whole riverwalk by foot and also reach the Alamo on a very scenic route. The Valet Parking works awesome and we never had any problem to get our car quickly. We drove a big suburban and it was no issue at all to park this car.
The location is right on the Riverwalk. You can see it from the hotel. The bed was very comfortable. The room was spacious, clean, and quiet. There were motion lights under the bed so there was light when you got up during the night. The bathroom also had a dim light so you didn't need to turn on the bright light. There was plenty of storage space. The bartender was very friendly. My husband and I had dessert and a drink at the bar. It was a little pricey but it was worth it. I'd definitely stay here again.
Comprehensive breakfast, including eggs, bacon, beans, plus the usual baked goods, waffles and cereals. Right near the Alamo, less than 10 minutes from the bus station, and 5 minutes from the River Walk. The location can't be beat for the price, and the room was very comfortable. If I return to San Antonio, I'll definitely check availability at Best Western first rather than look for hotels in general. That's something I rarely do when returning to a place.
Super impressed from the second we drove up. From the valet to the porter to the concierge, everyone was friendly, welcoming and helpful without being overwhelming. Dorrego's restaurant is top notch for breakfast or dinner as are the staff and bartenders. Location is perfect being on the Riverwalk. The price is on par with other hotels on the river but staying there, you feel like you staying somewhere way more expensive. Definitely a do over.
It was a great location. Opened my curtains and right there was the Riverwalk. The staff was wonderful. The hotel was very clean. It served a hot breakfast every morning and snacks on Wednesday evenings. Had Valet parking so I didn't have to worry about my car being broke into. I would definitely stay at this hotel again if I go back on vacation to San Antonio. And it was pet friendly.
Decor was really nice, hotel was really clean, staff were super helpful and friendly. The room had lots of facilities including a hair dryer and iron. It was really good value and super close to the centre of city and Riverwalk. We walked in and had a great time. Felt safe walking back too at around 9pm. Parking is good and camera monitored.
This hotel was clean, comfortable and a great location in downtown San Antonio. Close walking distance to the Alamo and the Riverwalk. Good value for the price, there is a daily parking fee, but your car is parked in the gated, secure hotel lot. Free breakfast was typical free, hotel fare. Would stay here again and would recommend.
La Cascada was very close to the centre of San Antonio without being in the centre and paying a fortune for a room. It's on the river so you could walk along the river and then into the RiverWalk where all the restaurants, bars and shops are. It's all very easy. There was a grocery store nearby and the room itself was great.
Probably one of the best hotels we’ve ever stayed at. Beautiful modern clean room with a comfortable bed and everything we needed. Amazing shower and bathroom. Location was perfect, being able to take the elevator and exit right on the riverwalk was so cool. Valet was super friendly and professional.
Typical motel with a nice small pool. The staff was very friendly, I enjoyed the quietness of the hotel during the week. It takes approx. 25 minutes to reach the riverwalk by foot, but the bus connection is really good. There is a lovely mexican mall very close to the hotel. I would book it again.
It is charming and quaint. An old Victorian home with lots of character right on the Riverwalk, with a view from our room of the riverwalk and downtown. Excellent and preferable option to the sleek tourist/business hotels downtown. Lovely host, and very nice other guests.
The hotel was a great base for exploring SA. It is close to the Riverwalk, the Alamo and the Main Plaza and a 30 minute walk to The Pearl or the King William District. It's close to many good restaurants.
The staff were friendly and helpful.
Decent breakfast, team were very helpful with tips and service. The room is not that bing, but if you're not staying there the whole day, it's ok. The best is definetly the location: it's sooo close of Alamo, Downtown and Riverwalk.
- Charming historic boutique hotel in central location at the Riverwalk in San Antonio.
- Quieter part of the Riverwalk yet within walking distance to most of Riverwalk and Downtown.
- Parking on site available.
very good option for staying in downtown San Antonio, walking distance to Riverwalk, easy to get everywhere else by car, free parking, big room, with all necessary amenities, excellent value for money
The hotel was stylish and clean. It had a fun vibe that you don’t see at other hotels on the Riverwalk. The shower in our room was top-notch. I loved the Spanglish artwork on the walls of our room.
This hotel was amazing! We were located right on the Riverwalk. Everywhere we wanted to go was within walking distance. Our room was clean. The hotel was nice. Breakfast was amazing.
The hotel is comfortable with access to the Riverwalk path, dining at Amber was convenient since it is in the hotel, staff very nice and accommodating, and the room was beautiful.
